Occasionally, it is also called "ghost shaving", which is a common inflammatory scarless alopecia.

The clinical manifestation is that the hair suddenly falls off in pieces, and the alopecia spots are mostly round or oval, with different sizes, which can be single or multiple, mainly in the hair, and can also involve beards, eyebrows, armpits and other hairy body parts. Hair loss spots usually have clear boundaries and the skin appearance is basically normal. Generally, there are no obvious symptoms, and most of them are discovered unintentionally. A few patients may have mild scalp itching or scalp tightness.
