Overview of cylindrical brick kiln

Gangwa Kiln is located in Gangwa Kiln, 60 kilometers southwest of Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia. Also known as "Chifeng kiln" or "Chifeng cylinder tile kiln". The objects burned are white porcelain, black and white flowers, tricolor and painted pottery. The kiln furniture engraved with the word "official" was unearthed at the kiln site, which proved to be the official kiln of Liao Dynasty. Mainly white porcelain, utensils include cups, bowls, plates, dishes, pots and cans; Tricolor pottery is mostly printed plates, and yellow glazes include cockscomb pots and cockscomb bottles. The "Guan"-shaped white porcelain dish and bowl unearthed from Ma Xu's tomb in the 9th year of Liao Yingli in Chifeng (959) is the product of the tubular tile kiln in terms of geographical orientation and fetal glaze characteristics.

The kiln site is located in Tongdao Village, about 70 kilometers west of Chifeng City. The kiln site is very large, about1.500m long from east to west and about1.000m long from north to south. It is the largest porcelain kiln in Liao country.

More than 20 horseshoe kilns and 1 dragon kilns were found in this kiln site.
