Livestock refers to what animals
In ancient times, cows, sheep and pigs were known as the three animals, while horses, cows, sheep, chickens, dogs and pigs were collectively known as the six animals. All of these animals were important livestock in ancient farming societies and played an important role in human production and life. For example, oxen were used for farming in ancient times and are still used for plowing in many places today; while horses were important means of transportation and tools of war.
In modern times, with the development of human society and technological progress, the types and uses of livestock have expanded and changed. In addition to traditional domestic animals, some wild animals have gradually been domesticated and used for purposes such as food, ornamental or experimental purposes. However, despite the important contribution of livestock to human production and livelihoods, care needs to be taken to protect animal welfare and environmental sustainability during breeding and management.
