Jinma Bijie Fang Introduction:
Jinma Bijie Fang is located in the center of Kunming City, at the confluence of the Sanshi Street and Jinbi Road, 12 meters high, 18 meters wide. It is a symbol of Kunming. The Golden Horse and Bijie Square was built during the Xuande period of the Ming Dynasty, and has a history of nearly four hundred years.
When the sun is about to set, the afterglow shines on Bijie Square from the west, and its reflection is thrown onto the street in the east; at the same time, the moon has just risen from the east, and its silvery light shines on Golden Horse Square, and its reflection is thrown onto the street in the west; the shadows of the two pagodas move closer and closer to each other and finally meet each other. This is the spectacle of "Jinbi Jiehui", which occurs only once in 60 years. Legend has it that this spectacle appeared once in the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty. Due to the angle of the earth, the moon and the sun, such a spectacle occurs only once in 60 years. The design of the "Golden Horse Bijie Square" reflects the ancient Yunnan people's attainments in mathematics, astronomy and architecture. The original "Golden Horse Bijie Square" was demolished during the 10-year turmoil, and the existing "Golden Horse Bijie Square" was rebuilt in its original style at the original site in 1998.

The monk in charge of the end of the Ming Dynasty once wrote a poem:
One pass in the east and one pass in the west, and I don't see the Golden Horse and see the Bijie.
Thirty miles in the face of acrimony, the golden horse hissed when the blue chicken crowed.
The Golden Horse and Bijie Square were once the humanistic landscape and symbol of the city of Kunming. Located at the southern end of the traditional central axis of Kunming City, that is, today's Jinbi Road and Justice Road intersection, was built in the Ming Dynasty during the Xuande years. Golden Horse Bijie Square Architectural History:
The myth and legend about the Golden Horse Bijie, the first to be seen in historical records is the Han Dynasty Ban Gu's "Book of Han". According to the "Book of Han" "Wang Bao biography" records: Emperor Xuandi of the Han Dynasty five Phoenix three years, there is a square scholar said: Yizhou has a golden horse Bijie God, can be sacrificed to achieve. So Emperor Xuan of Han Dynasty appointed Wang Bao, a famous scholar from Sichuan at that time, as an advisor and went there with a festival to seek for it. Because of the barbarians' rebellion, the road was closed and impassable, Wang Berg did not arrive at Yunnan but only at the western part of Sichuan, and wrote an "Ode to Bijie" to make a remote sacrifice, which reads: "Wang Berg, the festival envoy, remotely worshipped the South Cliffs, respectfully moved the Golden Spirit Horse and the indistinct Bijie's Chicken to the South of the wilderness, the deep streams and back to the valleys, and the non-earthly countryside. Return to return to return to, Han Germany without boundaries, wide Tang Yu, Ze with the three emperors. The yellow dragon sees the white tiger, and the return of the return of the return of the return of the return of the return of the return of the return of the return of the return, can be for the Lun. Returning to Xiangxi, what's the matter with the Southern Wilderness." Wang Berg tried to summon the Golden Horse Bijie to the mainland by virtue of "Han's virtue is boundless" and writing a sacrificial text, but in the end, nothing came of it, and Wang Berg himself soon fell ill and died on the way back.
Zhao Shilin, a famous scholar in the Qing Dynasty, wrote in his poem "Poem of Bijie", "A piece of colorful clouds dances with a chicken in the sky, and the five-color light makes me want to get lost. It was transformed into a green mountain with a thousand years of blue, and Wang Berg crossed Brazil by himself." Later, Yang Shen, a famous literati in the Ming Dynasty who lived in exile in Yunnan, moved Wang Berg's Golden Horse Biji text on the rocky cliffs of Kunming's Xishan Mountain and inscribed, "I corrected the Chinese characters, with Biao Han words, the literature of Dian, is still examined in this."
Traceability
During the Han Dynasty, most of the accounts of the Golden Horse Bijie were relatively simple, and not detailed. Yan Shigu and others explained that "gold is shaped like a horse, and blue is shaped like a chicken." Meaning that Dianzhong produced gold and jade. According to today's anthropology, ethnology and folklore viewpoints, the golden horse and the blue chicken are probably related to the animal totem worship of Yunnan's minority ancestors. To the Eastern Jin Dynasty, Chang Qu's "Huayang Guo Zhi - South China Zhi" on the Golden Horse Bijie description: "Zhang Di, Shu County, Wang Fu for the governor of Yizhou, the rule of the chemical is particularly different, four horses out of the Dianchi River in the Shenma ...... "," Elder rumors, the pool has a Divine horse, or hand over, that is, the birth of steeds, commonly known as 'Dianchi colt', the day line five hundred miles." "Bijie light, people see it. And rumor has it that in the past there was a phoenix singing on it, the natives called for Bijie, because of the name." Also said, "Yu Tong Mountain (now Dayao, Yongren area) has Bijie, golden horse, light and shadow swiftly, the people mostly see it ......." Huayang Guozhi - Nanzhong Zhi" account of the golden horse Bijie, indicating that at that time, the ancestors of various ethnic minorities living in Nanzhong area may have appeared in the belief of animal totem worship.
Ancient Dianchi and the vast area of western Yunnan Province has a temperate climate and dense vegetation, which is suitable for all kinds of birds and beasts to reproduce and survive. According to the "Later Han Book - Southwest Barbarians biography": "this county (Yizhou County) ...... river soil flat and spacious, more parrots, peacocks ......" a variety of birds such as the original chicken, turnip chickens, pheasants, pheasants, pheasants and peacocks, etc. Various birds of prey, such as the original chicken, turnip chicken, wild pheasant, mallow chicken and peacock, live in groups in the mountains, forests and valleys, and were considered by the ancestors of the ethnic minorities to be symbols of good luck and beauty. It is very likely that the "Bijie" is the legendary bird of good fortune, the phoenix. Its prototype should be the peacock and other rare birds commonly seen in Nanzhong. Minority ancestors with rich imagination, weaving the beautiful myth of "Bijie".
