The gathering places around Shanghai and Nanjing used to be the most concentrated areas of sales companies and manufacturers in China shelf industry. Sometimes there are some iron and steel enterprises in this area, such as Shanghai Baosteel and Shanghai Port, which is a convenient port for iron ore import. Of course, the disadvantage is the lack of energy for steelmaking, coal and natural gas. Especially without coal, the cost of steel is higher than that of Hebei. This area should also be one of the earliest cradles of China shelf industry, and online shelf sales also started from here, so a number of top online shelf enterprises are basically from this area.

A gathering place around Foshan, Guangzhou, which mainly depends on the iron and steel industry in Foshan, Guangzhou, as well as the developed supermarket and storage demand in Guangdong and Hong Kong. However, because there are few iron mines in this area, some of them have been basically mined and can only be imported, while energy such as coal is scarce and the personnel cost is higher, so the steel cost in this area is very high. However, because of the heavy freight and large local market, the shelf industry basically does the local market.
