Why is ramie fabric so popular?
1. Advantages of ramie fabric: 1) Among various hemp fibers, ramie fiber is the thinnest at best.
The fiber length is two to seven times longer than the highest grade cotton batting. 2) After the raw hemp is glued and specially made, the fiber appearance is white in color and has a silky luster.
3) Ramie fiber structure has large gaps, good air permeability, fast heat conduction, absorbs a lot of moisture and dissipates moisture quickly, so wearing hemp fabrics has a cool feeling.
4) Ramie chemical fiber has high strength and low elongation.
Its super strength is seven or eight times greater than cotton batting.
5) Ramie fiber is not susceptible to mold corrosion and insect infestation, and is soft. Compared with pure cotton cloth and ramie cloth of the same capacity, ramie cloth is 20% lighter.
2. Disadvantages: Ramie chemical fiber has low ductility, lacks ductility, low wear resistance, is prone to wrinkles, is hard and easily broken.
Ramie is geographically distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Guangdong, Fujian, Jiangxi, Taiwan, Zhejiang, Hubei, Sichuan, and is widely cultivated in the southern parts of Gansu, Shaanxi, and Henan.
