Lactic acid-based plastics
Polylactic acid (PLA) is a completely biomass polymer material, which is recognized by the world as "the fourth new polymer material with the widest application value and environmental protection application value" after metal materials, inorganic materials and polymer materials.
It is one of the key scientific research projects listed in the Ninth Five-Year Plan, the Tenth Five-Year Plan, the 863 Plan, the Eleventh Five-Year Plan and the national medium-and long-term scientific and technological development plan. The density of PLA is 1.25g/cm3, the melting point is 172℃ ~ 220℃, the glass transition temperature is 56℃ ~ 63℃, the melt flow rate is 2 ~ 15g/ 10 min, the tensile strength is ≥50MPa, and the elongation at break. This material has many excellent properties, such as excellent physical and chemical properties, high transparency, good biological and chemical degradability, controllable degradation time, non-toxic, tasteless, acid and alkali resistance, anti-bacteria, anti-ultraviolet, easy to process and shape, smooth surface, easy to degrade and produce environmentally friendly carbon dioxide and water. Moreover, PLA polymer material is particularly outstanding in air permeability, wrinkle resistance, high strength, high elasticity, heat resistance and biodegradability, so it is also a good natural material for making fiber textiles. Its uses are quite extensive, and it can be applied to industry, agriculture, forestry, construction, textile industry, food packaging industry, daily necessities, culture and sports, medical care and other fields. Biomass materials —— Polylactic acid (PLA) will definitely replace chemical petroleum-based plastics such as polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP), and comprehensively and effectively solve the worldwide problem of "white pollution".
