How is sugar made?

White sugar is refined sugar made from molasses squeezed from sugarcane and sugar beet. White sugar is white, clean and high in sweetness.

White sugar is mainly divided into two categories, namely white sugar and soft sugar. White sugar is widely eaten abroad, while soft candy is mainly eaten in countries or regions in China food culture circle.

Different countries have different standards and classifications for white sugar. In China, sugar is divided into four grades according to the degree of refinement, namely refined sugar, super-grade sugar, first-grade sugar and second-grade sugar. Soft candy is divided into three grades, namely refined soft candy, excellent soft candy and first-class soft candy.

Extended data:

White sugar: the crystallization of sucrose, the purity is above 99.8%. White sugar has the pure sweetness of sucrose, which can not only be eaten directly, but also is the main variety of industrial sugar.

Soft white sugar: fine sucrose particles are wrapped in a layer of invert syrup, and the purity is equivalent to that of white sugar. Inverted sugar plays a role in softening, increasing fragrance and helping sweetness here.

This is because invert sugar has a sweetness similar to honey (the main component of honey is invert sugar), and its sweetness is higher than that of sucrose (the sweetness of sucrose is 1, so the sweetness of invert sugar is 1.2). The strong water absorption ability of invert sugar keeps the sugar particles soft, so the soft white sugar tastes better than white sugar.
