What is radar absorbing material

A radar absorbing material is a material that effectively absorbs radar waves and reduces reflections. The material usually consists of a number of tiny conductive particles that have a particular shape and size and are embedded in a polymer matrix.

Radar waves scatter much more on the surface of such materials than on ordinary surfaces because the tiny particles on the surface of the material cause multiple reflections and scattering of the incident wave, which consumes a large amount of energy. This enables the reflection of radar waves to be reduced and stealth performance to be improved.
