In April 2023, information on the college's official website showed that the college covers an area of more than 1.61 million square meters; there are five secondary colleges, offering 44 undergraduate majors and 27 higher vocational majors; and there are more than 20,000 students enrolled. As of June 2022, the college had more than 530 teachers with senior titles.

The predecessor of the college is the Xi'an Foreign Service Training College, which was founded in 1992, and was upgraded to a higher vocational college and renamed Xi'an Foreign Service Vocational College in May 2000, and was upgraded to a general undergraduate college and renamed Xi'an Foreign Service College in 2005, which was upgraded to a general undergraduate college and renamed Xi'an Foreign Service College.
