What are the four major geographic regions of China?
China's four major geographic regions are the northern region, the southern region, the northwestern region and the Qinghai-Tibet region.
Of these, the Qinling and Huaihe River line is the dividing line between the northern and southern regions. The Daxinganling-Yinshan-Helan Mountains is the dividing line between the northern region and the northwestern region. China's Qinghai-Tibet region and the northwest region, the northern region, the southern region of the demarcation line, roughly the first step and the second step of the demarcation line.
China's northern and southern regions, in terms of topography, climate, river flow and vegetation types, there are obvious differences; by the influence of the natural environment, the people in the northern and southern regions, in the mode of production, living habits, cultural traditions, etc., there are also great differences.
Influencing factors: Boundary A, (Daxinganling-Yinshan-Helan Mountains) the dominant factor is the demarcation line between monsoon and non-monsoon and the line of 400mm of annual equal precipitation; Boundary B, (Qinling-Huaihe River): roughly coincides with the line of 0℃ isothermal temperature in January and the line of 800mm of annual equal precipitation; the dominant factor is the climate (air temperature, precipitation).
Boundary C: the dominant factor is topography and terrain, i.e., the demarcation line between the first and second ladders (Kunlun Mountains - Qilian Mountains - Hengduan Mountain Range)
