What are the Russian folk arts?
When it comes to Russia, I can't help but browse the folk handicrafts in my window. There are "dolls", crystal products, colorful art jewelry boxes and so on. I carefully selected them during my work in Russia. They are typical Russian specialties. As the saying goes, the more national, the more cosmopolitan. These handicrafts are symbols of Russian folk art, and in their words, they are called important forms of people's artistic creation. In other words, exquisite Russian folk crafts reflect the aesthetic and folk art characteristics of generations of Russians.
If you want to buy these specialties, people who go to Moscow will definitely go to a place-Bernisal open-air market in Izmerovo Park (Izmerovo for short), which is commonly known as "an ant" by Chinese people. This market is close to the Olympic International Apartment (where athletes lived during the Moscow Olympic Games more than 20 years ago), and its opening hours are from 10 to 18 every Saturday and Sunday. The market ranks first in Russia with its numerous stalls and various special foods, and it is also a must-see for tourists.
Among all the specialties, China people are probably most familiar with dolls, whose full name is Matryoshka doll. It is a traditional Russian toy, a series of wooden dolls with the same shape, big and small. The doll is painted with T-shirts with unique Russian style paintings, beautiful red and blue Gugli pottery and Hofman tableware (so-called wooden tableware, red or golden strawberries painted on the black ground, etc. ). Now some new products with modern patterns have been added, such as leader dolls (with the heads of national leaders such as Putin and Bush printed) and sports series dolls, which are very popular. Taowa appeared in the Zagorsk region of Moscow at the end of 19, when it was the center of making toys. "Matryoshka" is a common name for rural women. So the model of this toy is a peasant woman wearing a traditional Salavin, wearing a headscarf and carrying a basket or a bunch of chickens and ducks. The model is simple and the color is extremely bright. Each set of dolls has differences in details, and there are usually 3 to 24 dolls in a set. The prices of dolls at all levels vary widely, ranging from tens of rubles to tens of thousands of rubles. Because the doll is the most popular traditional Russian toy, it is often used as a symbol of Russian goods in trademarks, labels, shop signs and other commodity signs.
Then there is Jossetot's Wocai painting plate, which is a decorative painting painted on a metal plate, and the picture is painted with varnish. Most patterns are bouquets and fruits, usually painted with bright colors on a black background. There are similar spoons, cups, photo albums and small tables. Another popular type is small craft painting, which is mainly painted on jewelry boxes, small boxes and cigarette cases. Generally painted with water gel pigments, the patterns include life scenes, historical myths and stories and plots of literary works. Its paintings are fine, soft in color and small and exquisite.
There are more kinds of decorations, such as amber necklaces, brooches, rings and gold and silver jewelry. There are also all kinds of precious stones and diamond ornaments. These ornaments are all hand-made, and the workmanship is extremely fine.
In addition, antiques (ornaments, spoons, eyes, small boxes, playing eyes, etc. ), Russian scarves, shawls, sheets, bedspreads, Russian tea drinks, Russian cameras, books and carpets are also sold here.
If you want to buy a crystal, you have to drive more than 300 kilometers to a small town in Moscow (commonly known as Crystal City) to buy it. The market there is a morning market, and the business hours are from 7: 00 to 1 1. The crystal products here are very complete, from chandeliers to jewelry, and the prices are very cheap. During my stay in Moscow, I went there more than five or six times, usually with friends from China. In this way, I not only visited the rural scenery in the outer suburbs, tasted the authentic local Russian food, but also became addicted to bargaining, and finally returned home with a full load. The most popular crystal products are crystal shoes, crystal ornaments and crystal tableware. Although Russian crystals are slightly rough in workmanship, far less exquisite and bright than Czech crystals, they are one of the main local specialties, with moderate prices and diverse products.
As for embroidery and lace shops, it's best to go to Albat's shop in Moscow, where there are many Hofman tableware. Sell wooden spoons, teacups, soup plates, coffee tables, juice containers, pots and plates.
Most of the sellers in the market are veterans and can bargain with customers in fluent English. For us foreigners working in Russia, this is a place to practice oral English and get familiar with Russian customs.
