Black copper and silver are produced as follows:

Making black copper, silver (gold) is one of the unique and famous China handicrafts in Shiping County. This complex process requires craftsmen to master the skills of smelting alloy, carving, calligraphy and painting, micro-carving, etc.

Black copper takes silver (gold), and handicrafts generally include Four Treasures of the Study series, wine sets, incense sets, smoking sets, ding, tea sets, bottles, cans, Zun series and appreciation series. Common patterns and decorations include Five Blessingg Pengshou, Meilan Bamboo Chrysanthemum, Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea, Fu Gui Landscape Fish, Sanying Zhan Lu, Song He Yannian, Xianglong Xianrui and so on.

Wu Tong Walking Silver is a traditional China copper handicraft unique to Yunnan, which was founded in Shiping, Yunnan. It takes copper as a tire, carves various patterns on the tire, and then injects molten silver (or gold) water into the pattern, and then cools it and polishes it smooth. After a long time, the bottom copper naturally turns black, revealing silver (or gold) lines, showing a clear decorative effect of black and white (or black and yellow), antique, elegant and chic.

It has been more than 300 years since Wu Tong became silver. Because it is difficult to get gold, mainly silver, it is called "taking silver from black copper". In the past, this handicraft was mostly stationery for learning. There are many kinds now. 20 1 1 was approved by the State Council to be included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.

process sequence

1. Refining copper alloy: High-quality copper, a certain proportion of gold and pure silver are mixed with more than ten other precious metals to smelt copper alloy.

2. Forging black copper sheet: forging and rolling the alloy into black copper sheets with different thicknesses.

3. Carving patterns on the black copper sheet: after design, cutting and blanking, draw the required patterns or characters on the black copper sheet with smooth lines, and then carve various patterns with a chisel. The depth of carving depends on the thickness of the black copper sheet.

Fourth, take silver: take the essence of silver, black, copper and silver technology. The black copper-silver process uses pure silver scraps or pure gold scraps to fill the pattern, taking "walking" as the degree. After high temperature treatment, silver scraps or gold scraps naturally blend with black copper.
