Background of the Department of Philosophy at the Central Party School

Philosophy is one of the disciplines with a long history and traditional advantages in the Central Party School of the C***. Since the predecessor of the C*** Central Party School, the Marxist***ist School, was founded on March 13, 1933 in the Central Soviet Area, it has offered courses in Marxist philosophy. The principals at that time, Comrades Li Weihan and Dong Biwu, were theorists of our Party with deep philosophical attainments. During the Yan'an period, especially after the great Marxist philosopher Comrade Mao Zedong personally assumed the post of principal of the Central Party School of the CPC in January 1942, he attached great importance to the education and cultivation of the proletarian scientific worldview of Party members and cadres, and on many occasions personally taught courses on Marxist philosophy, and many of his famous philosophical writings were first published in the Central Party School. The philosophical work done by Comrade Mao Zedong at the Central Party School of the People's Republic of China has greatly contributed to the firm establishment of the ideological line of seeking truth from facts in the Party as a whole, and the practical rectification of the style of learning, which has led to the great victory of the New Democratic Revolution, and at the same time laid down a solid theoretical foundation for the development of Marxist philosophy in the Central Party School and even in the country as a whole.
