Total import and export declined slightly

Currently, China's mold industry as a whole import and export continues to maintain exports than imports of trade surplus. According to customs information statistics show that since 2015, China's mold industry import and export trade volume showed a shock trend, in 2019, China's mold industry import and export trade totaled 8.185 billion U.S. dollars, compared with the same period of the previous year, a slight decline.

Import, as China's mold industry continues to develop, in recent years, mold imports showed a shocking downward trend. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in 2015, China's mold imports were 2.485 billion U.S. dollars, and in 2019, China's mold imports fell to 1.939 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 9.37%, with imports hitting a new low in recent years.

Specific to the imported products, China's imports of mold products are mainly plastic rubber molds and stamping molds, according to customs information statistics show that the total imports of plastic rubber molds and stamping molds accounted for China's total imports of molds are more than 40%. Data show that in 2019, China's plastic rubber mold imports accounted for 44.96% of total imports; stamping mold imports accounted for 40.92% of total imports; other types of mold imports accounted for 14.12% of total imports.

Plastic mold exports to drive the total exports continued to grow

Export, in recent years, China's mold imports showed a shocking upward trend. According to statistics from the General Administration of Customs, in 2015, China's mold exports were $5.082 billion, and by 2019, China's mold exports were raised to $6.246 billion, an increase of 2.64% year-on-year, and an increase of $1.156 billion over 2015.

Specific to the export products, China's exports of mold products are mainly plastic rubber molds, according to customs information statistics show that in recent years, China's exports of plastic rubber molds to maintain more than 60%. 2019, China's exports of plastic rubber molds accounted for 62.47% of the total exports; stamping molds exports accounted for 19.3% of the total exports; other types of molds exported to account for a total of 18.23% of the export value.
