Introduction to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in France

Sacred Heart Church (Sacré-C甁爀) is located in Paris on the heights of Montmartre (Butte de Montmartre). The church has a unique architectural style that resembles both Romanesque and Byzantine. The interior of the bell tower is square, there is a large bell, called the Savoyard bell, weighing 19 tons, is one of the world's famous bell. The church has three arched doors. On either side of the top of the door are two statues on horseback, one is King St. Louis. The other is Joan of Arc, the national heroine of France. It was built in 1876 and inaugurated in 1919 with donations from the faithful all over France. Inside the church there are many bas-reliefs, frescoes and mosaic mosaics. An attractive place here is the Place Montmartre, which is the most artistic part of Paris. At some point it became a large open-air studio where many young painters sketched. Its large white dome has a chic combination of Romanesque and Byzantine styles. The big dome is surrounded by four small domes, very Middle Eastern mood. At the back of the church there is a 84-meter-high square bell tower, which contains one of the world's largest Savoy bells, weighing 19 tons, which is one of the largest bells in the world. On the front of the church are three arched gates with two equestrian statues on either side of a large dome: the King of France, St. Louis, and the national heroine, Joan of Arc.
