How should teenagers view China's traditional cultural heritage?

How should we view the traditional culture of China? First of all, I want to declare that I am not an "admirer" of China's traditional culture. Here, I just briefly discuss what kind of attitude we should take towards the traditional culture of China when "tea" meets "coffee". Now in the eyes of China people, many people think that the traditional culture of China has no way out. They believe in western culture and totally deny China's tradition. They think that China's traditional culture has no future and has not adapted to the development of today's society. China will have a "future" only if it learns from western countries. They despise the traditional culture of China and advocate total westernization. Only in this way can we call for democracy, freedom, equality and science with today's society. It is not difficult to find a phenomenon that it is often China people who look down on China's traditional culture, and foreigners look at China's tradition more rationally than China's own. What does this mean? I think this at least shows: first, China people's cultural outlook is diversified; Second, it is irrational to treat one's own tradition; Thirdly, the psychology of worshipping foreign things and obsessing foreign things has penetrated into the cultural field from the material field. It is not up to anyone to decide whether there is a way out for China's traditional culture, but many people who say that there is no way out for China's traditional culture do not have a deep understanding of China's traditional culture. Here, I don't want to defend "China traditional culture has a way out". I always feel that we can't easily deny our traditional culture, completely deny China's history of civilization and thought for thousands of years. Without a deep understanding of China's traditional culture, it will inevitably make people feel that, in my opinion, a tradition or culture can't be easily denied. In fact, it is of little significance to discuss whether China traditional culture has a way out, because no one can accurately explain or prove that the way out lies in the future, and no one is fully sure of the future, even if he is a saint. Those who assert that China's traditional culture has a way out or no way out are speculative and predictive. When we talk about how to treat the traditional culture of China, we should first know what the traditional culture of China includes, that is, what is the scope and content of the traditional culture of China. Many people who deny the traditional culture of China mostly narrow or misinterpret the traditional culture of China. They generally believe that China's traditional culture is Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, and it is a backward feudal culture. They don't know much about the traditional culture of China. China's traditional culture is a culture produced on the traditional soil of China, which was jointly created by Chinese descendants and China people for thousands of years. What are the aspects of China's traditional culture? I can't list them all, but I think China's traditional culture must include a hundred schools of thought and culture, including Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, including writing, painting, architecture and sculpture, including ancient prose, poetry, music, national music, national drama, folk art, Chinese painting, calligraphy, couplets, riddles, shot put, alcoholic drinks and two-part allegorical sayings. Traditional festivals include: Spring Festival on the first day of the first month, Lantern Festival on the 15th day of the first month, Tomb-Sweeping Day on April 5th, Dragon Boat Festival on May 5th, Tanabata on July 7th, Mid-Autumn Festival on August 15th, Lunar New Year's Eve and various folk customs. The natural sciences in ancient China, including the traditional calendar, and the traditional cultures of various regions and ethnic minorities living in the big family of the Chinese nation are also part of the traditional culture of China. From this point of view, the content of China's traditional culture is quite rich, including not only the feudal cultural lag, which is narrowly understood by the deniers, but also the Three Cardinals and the Five Permits. Those who deny China's traditional culture say that China's traditional culture has no way out, that China's traditional culture is useless and unscientific, and that China's traditional culture does not meet the value requirements of the times. So, what causes some China people to deny or even totally deny the traditional culture of China? I think it's because of comparison, that is, the comparison between Chinese and western cultures. Learning from the West and borrowing from the West for restructuring are the greatest academic and political characteristics of China in the past 100 years. A nation's culture and spirit can flourish or decline in comparison. In this way, China belongs to the latter. In China, it is an indisputable fact that traditional culture is neglected and moral people are "declining". Therefore, some people stand up and say that China's traditional culture is dead, there is no way out, and it should be completely abandoned. Indeed, we have to admit that China's traditional culture is flawed, and it is necessary and inevitable to learn from the western system. In my opinion, in today's society, there can be no absolute boundary between this culture, this civilization and other cultures and civilizations, but they must permeate and influence each other. Mr. and Mr. Sai were invited to the May 4th Movement, which inspired many people. But when I think about it, they don't fully understand the moral culture that gave birth to these two gentlemen, especially the western religious and cultural traditions, and they can't fully understand it. Therefore, to a certain extent, the people of China lack due judgment on "democracy" and "science", and the mainstream of the May 4th New Culture Movement criticized Confucianism, believing that these are all dross. "Radicals in the May 4th New Culture Movement do have a tendency to completely oppose tradition and Confucianism. They say nothing about Confucianism and traditional culture, thinking that the future of China can only be decided by whether China can put down the shelf of the old empire and learn from western modern civilization with an open mind. However, although this view is held by the May 4th New Culture Movement, it does not represent the whole of the New Culture Movement. In fact, people in the New Culture Movement also have different views. For example, Hu Shi, a moderate in the New Culture Movement, although he also held a severe critical attitude towards Confucianism, it seems that he never advocated completely overthrowing Confucianism because of the rational attitude of scholars, but advocated an analytical and critical attitude. " At present, we can't easily deny the traditional culture of China and don't always talk about the West. We should also hold an analytical and critical attitude and remain rational. People who despise China's traditional culture often lack a deep comparison between Chinese and Western cultures, and often fail to calmly seek the similarities and ways of convergence between China's traditional culture and democracy and science. Their devotion to democracy, freedom and constitutionalism far exceeds its original meaning. The values and spirits called for by these times are often rigidly and "bloodily" implanted into China society by China people. As a result, good traditions have been abandoned or lost, and the western system and spirit have not learned "home", just like learning to walk in Handan. It is not difficult to find that today's China people, that is, the so-called 2 1 century China people, have a stronger mentality of abandoning traditional culture. What is even more frightening is that many of them know nothing about traditional culture, lack a correct distinction between ideas and spiritual values, and are confused about their future culture. Their blind worship of western culture has reached an unprecedented level. They despise the tradition of China, and they advocate reform, reform, and then reform. They firmly believe that tradition equals conservatism. They don't know that the social reality in China is a continuation of tradition to a great extent. They don't know that modernization can be achieved by copying western systems and western culture. They don't know that a country's modernization should and can only be a transformation of its own traditions. They reform, reform, and reform again. It seems that everything has to be changed, everything has to be changed. In their eyes, change means progress and prosperity, change means good, constant means backwardness and conservatism, and constant means bad. Admittedly, reform is necessary, but in the face of our traditional culture in China, shouldn't we think more about what is unchangeable and what is unchangeable while reforming? The mutual infiltration and blending of cultures is a very complicated process. We should also admit that modern European and American cultures are more advanced than China in a sense, but we should not despise the traditional culture of China and completely deny the traditional culture of China. Instead, we should try our best to make the essence of modern culture truly fit the inherent cultural spirit of China, find the foundation and opportunity for both sides, and find the soil for grafting modern universal values in the land of traditional culture in China. Therefore, some traditional cultures in China need to be "changed", so they need an attempt and creation, patience, rationality and patience, because it takes time, rationality and wisdom. Some traditional cultures in China must be "unchanged", which will lead to sarcasm and abuse, so it needs a kind of caution and respect.
