This festival was organized by a retired Javanese doctor named Husodo, who founded "Perfect Society" in Jakarta Medical College on May 20th. 1908. This is a cultural and educational organization, which aims at restoring the traditional Javanese culture of Javanese and Madura people, promoting the development of education, agriculture, industry and commerce, with special emphasis on safeguarding human dignity.
