Introduction to the exhibition area of Kunming World Expo Park in Yunnan

Total construction area 19927 square meters, covering an area of 33,000 square meters, observation deck of 3,600 square meters and pavement area of roads and venues of 4,340 square meters.

China Pavilion is the largest indoor exhibition hall of Expo '99. Together with the Pavilion of Man and Nature and the main square of the Great Greenhouse (New Century Square), it constitutes the main venue of the Expo.

China Pavilion is located in the north of the square, with the floor elevation of1.937m, which is 9m higher than the central square. Right opposite the central square, there is a viewing platform for the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and in-session activities. The architectural layout of China Pavilion adopts the traditional garden techniques of China, forming a courtyard-style building complex, and the corridor organically combines various functional exhibition halls. The whole building is divided into two floors, and the height of the roof is18m. The basic unit plane is 24×24 meters, with 7 units in total.

The architectural style of China Pavilion combines the palace architecture of Han Dynasty with the southern residential architecture, with blue tiles and white walls. Green represents life and is a symbol of gardening, while white represents peace and harmony.

The central inner garden is divided into Jiangnan Garden, North Garden and Dali Garden, which not only embodies the gardening style of China, but also is an ideal place for sightseeing and rest.

International Pavilion

Total construction area 1 1000 square meters, floor area 13250 square meters, road square area of 4300 square meters, green area of 3050 square meters, indoor floor elevation 1953 meters.

The International Pavilion is located at the easternmost end of the Expo site, at the end of the main sightseeing road, about 2 kilometers away from the main entrance of the Expo site.

The main building has a beautiful environment with lush forests as the background. The architectural form consists of a circular main body and an arc wall with a length exceeding 100 meters, which is presented to the audience with a large amount of exhibition space. The building structure forms several complete flow spaces through several concentric cylindrical grids. The exhibition rooms around the world are arranged around the atrium, which fully embodies the equal and harmonious international family relationship; The oblique arc-shaped buildings in the background have an upward movement and momentum, which symbolizes the determination of man and nature to run towards 2 1 century together.

Most of the International Pavilion has two floors, 8.5 meters high, and some of them are divided into three or four floors, with a height of 19.2 meters and a plane size of about 66 meters ×78 meters. The atrium is a circular roof with a diameter of18m, and the central part of the circle adopts a steel grid glass lighting ceiling.

The square in front of the international pavilion is equipped with a garden in combination with the terrain. There are landscape water, green grass and flowers in front, and outdoor greening and indoor greening complement each other, which makes the layout of the exhibition hall dissolve in nature.

Museum Mensch und Natur

The total construction area is 4,953 square meters, covering an area of 19 148 square meters, paving area of 1800 square meters, green area of 6,290 square meters, and landscape pool area of 6 100 square meters.

The Pavilion of Man and Nature is the theme pavilion of this World Expo. Combining with the mountain landform, the exhibition hall building fully shows the artistic conception of the integration of mountains, forests, water and buildings by using two platforms with a height difference of 2.4 meters and the water surface.

The plane layout of the Museum of Man and Nature takes the triangle of the ancient ecological plant clover as the basic unit and consists of three hexagons. The building structure adopts stainless steel grid, which has strong regularity and free space division. The roof is made of composite aluminum plate with decorative function, and the height of the building top is15m.

The collection and distribution rest square at the main entrance of the Museum of Man and Nature is close to the main tour path and landscape pool, and a large area of grassland slowly extends to the water surface, giving people the feeling of being close to nature. The water surface is divided into two parts. The front water area is large, with natural landscape as the main part, and the back water area is mainly artificial landscape, which is connected with the front water area through waterfalls.

Technisches Museum

The total construction area is 3,064 square meters, covering an area of 6,650 square meters, the paving area of the site is 1080 square meters, the green area is 2,800 square meters, and the floor elevation is 1938.95 meters.

The Science and Technology Museum is located in the middle of the international outdoor exhibition area, with a hillside in the north and a main sightseeing road with a width of 12 meters in the south. The east and west sides are adjacent to the tea garden and the international outdoor exhibition area respectively. According to the situation of land use, the science and technology museum is generally divided into two parts: exhibition hall and ring screen cinema. The exhibition hall is arranged in a rectangular plane 40 meters behind the main tour path, with the front designed as Little Square, and the surrounding squares are set off by greenery, sketches and flagpoles. The circular screen cinema is designed as a ball, located in the right front of the exhibition hall, symbolizing a kind of fruit.

The theme of the Science and Technology Museum is "Horticulture and Technology". The exhibition content is mainly divided into five parts: preface, gift from nature, historical review, oasis created by wisdom and wings of life.

The main exhibition hall is a reinforced concrete frame structure with a height of 7.5 meters. The exhibition hall adopts white glass floor-to-ceiling doors and windows in a large area, and a conical glass roof with a diameter of 12 m is set at the top for lighting, so that sunlight can penetrate into the room and meet the lighting requirements of the central green space. The ring screen cinema is divided into two floors, the coffee shop and lounge on the ground floor and the ring screen cinema on the second floor. The ring body of the ring screen cinema adopts steel mesh and silver-gray composite aluminum plate. The spherical cinema is 24 meters in diameter and can accommodate 230 people.

Big greenhouse

Big greenhouse, with a total construction area of 3,630 square meters, covering an area of 2,400 square meters and floor elevation of 1.932 meters.

The main body of the big greenhouse is opposite to the central axis of the entrance to the Expo Park, and is connected with the Expo Gate, Garden Avenue and Century Square in a line, which has important signs and landscapes.

The design of the big greenhouse embodies the distinct flavor of the times. * * * is divided into four exhibition areas, namely tropical plants exhibition area, temperate plants exhibition area, alpine plants exhibition area (plants above 3000m above sea level) and photo exhibition area. From small to large, the height of the three plant exhibition areas increases in turn, and the slope of the roof also increases in turn, forming a spiral upward trend, which is a metaphor for the dialectical law of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.

The elevation is arranged in sections, with the height of cold zone of 8-12m, temperate zone of10-16m and tropical zone of10-20m, which breaks the monotony of architectural modeling. According to the growth environment and ecological requirements of plants in three climatic zones, the height changes of each exhibition area and internal space, and the setting of sloping roofs are suitable for the rational layout of plants and the needs of ecological space.

Visitors can not only see through the glass from the outside, but also enter the room to fully integrate with the display environment and enjoy the unique natural scenery from different angles.

Vegetables guaguoyuan

The vegetable and melon garden covers an area of 4200 square meters. The theme is "Vegetables and fruits are an important food source for human survival", which mainly shows people the agricultural development in China, develops rich and colorful varieties of vegetables and fruits in China, and advocates wild vegetables and fruits without side effects, fertilizers and pesticides.

With the development of science and technology, especially the development of bioengineering, vegetables and fruits have added a function-ornamental besides the traditional edible value. Walking into the vegetable garden, you will feel that this sentence is true.

The display mode of vegetable and melon garden is mainly outdoor living cultivation, taking into account both physical objects and specimen models.

A treasure house of resources-living courtyard cultivation display. The specific exhibition categories are: vegetables (about 85 varieties), fruit trees (about 99 varieties) and melons (about 20 varieties).

BAMBOO GARDEN

Bamboo Garden is located in the southeast of Tang Yan Reservoir in the Expo Park, covering an area of 1.7 million square meters. The terrain is long and narrow, with mountains and water.

Bamboo Garden * * * has collected more than 4,000 bamboos belonging to 28 genera and 222 species. There are more than 30 kinds of ornamental bamboos, such as Bambusa bambusa, Bambusa gigantea, Bambusa yunnanensis, Bambusa angustifolia and Bambusa bambusa, and more than 50 kinds of rare and endangered bamboos, such as Dendrocalamus latiflorus, Dendrocalamus latiflorus, Dendrocalamus latiflorus and Fargesia Zhongdian, which form a "sunny day, bright moon and clear rain". Ceramic garden

The bonsai garden is located on the south side of Garden Avenue in the Expo Park, covering an area of 5,880 square meters.

The main building in the park has three exhibition halls and a group of corridors as the background, and the combined stone pavilion constitutes the casting facade of the bonsai garden, with a calm and beautiful image. The external image consists of three square pavilions, with a trapezoidal roof with four slopes, Mulan pottery tiles on the slopes and white jade cornices on the red walls, which is an architectural image with oriental style.

teahouse

The tea garden is located on the slope between the main tour road and the No.2 road in the middle of the Expo Park, facing the cliff landscape across the water in the south, covering an area of 1 1000 square meters.

Because it is located between the two main tourist routes, the terrain is high, and it will become a good place for tourists to stop and taste tea while displaying the characteristics of tea culture. A "boutique garden" was opened in the northwest of the country to display Chinese and foreign tea tree boutiques.

Tea garden construction mainly includes tea culture exhibition hall, tea performance room and tea tasting hall.

Tea culture exhibition hall. The contents of the exhibition include the origin and development of tea, tea and culture, tea and national unity, tea's effect on human health and its comprehensive utilization.

Tea performance, tea tasting hall. Specially trained tea performance teams can give visitors rich and vivid tea performances, and also arrange several sets of simple and easy-to-master and distinctive brewing methods for tourists and performers to watch, learn, do and taste together. Or select several sets of different kinds of tea samples or tea sets, and let visitors choose their own brewing products according to their own preferences in the form of "self-help tea tasting" to introduce people into an elegant and popular world of tea tasting.

vegetable garden

Baicaoyuan covers an area of 8700 square meters. The design of the garden embodies the traditional Jiangnan garden style in China, presents a three-dimensional landscape painting model, and takes rare and commonly used Chinese medicines as the main cultivation. The layout is mainly natural, supplemented by routine. Strive to embody the purpose of "every tree is a herb, every plant can cure diseases, there are flowers every month, and every step is a landscape".

Shushuyuan

The Botanical Garden covers an area of 25,400 square meters and is located in the middle of the Expo Park. There are about 40,000 species of first-class and second-class rare tree species.

Yunnan is one of the regions with the richest forest and wood germplasm resources in China and even in the world. Through the arboretum, we can show the effectiveness of effective protection of rare and endangered plants in China, and the important position and role of Yunnan in the global study of Magnoliaceae plants.

More than 300 species of cultivated plants belonging to 83 families were transplanted in the arboretum, accounting for more than 20,000 plants, including 50 rare and endangered plants and 0/000 trees. * * * is divided into four areas, namely, Magnoliaceae planting area, rare and endangered plant cultivation area, economic forest area and forest plant germplasm resources area.

Yunnan is the distribution center of Magnoliaceae plants. There are 15 genera, 150 species and1genus and 120 species in Yunnan. The arboretum has collected and planted more than 50 kinds of Magnoliaceae plants, most of which are big trees, which is really rare.

There are more than 50 species 14000 of rare and endangered plants collected and cultivated in the Botanical Garden, including more than 50 species 10 of Davidia involucrata, Taxus yunnanensis, Bole, Taiwania flousiana and Cycas, and more than 30 species of second-class protected plants.

A giant cypress with a tree age of nearly 300 years, DBH 1. 1m, tree height 13.8 m and crown width of 8×8 m was transplanted into the garden from 70 kilometers away, setting a world record for the transplantation of cypress plants. The big tree that survived after transplantation amazed the tourists.
