What are the characteristics of representative historical sites in China?
The number of historical sites in China is unmatched by any other country in the world. China is one of the cradles of ancient humans. Up to now, more than ten kinds of ancient humans have been discovered, such as Yuanmou people in Yunnan, Lantian people in Shaanxi, Dingcun people 400,000 years ago, Changyang people, Maba people and Neanderthals. As for the Neolithic and Paleolithic cultural sites, the typical ones are Lantian Site, Hemudu Site, Yangshao Cultural Site and Dawenkou Site.
In ancient China, it was quite popular to build tombs for emperors. Its quantity and scale, as well as the rich historical relics found in them, have always attracted the attention of the world. The famous imperial tombs in China mainly include Huangdi Mausoleum, Yuling Mausoleum, Qin Shihuang Mausoleum, Zhaoling Mausoleum, Genghis Khan Mausoleum and Ming Tombs. 1974, archaeologists in China discovered a pit of terracotta warriors and horses with an area of 14260 square meters on the east side of Qin Shihuang's mausoleum. There are thousands of warrior figures and pottery horses in the pit, which is known as "the eighth wonder of the world".

Neolithic culture in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China. Hemudu Site in Yuyao County, Zhejiang Province was first discovered, so it was named 1976. It is mainly distributed in Ningbo and Shaoxing Plain on the south bank of Hangzhou Bay, and directly reaches Zhoushan Island across the sea. According to radiocarbon dating and correction, the age is about 6000 BC. The discovery and establishment of Hemudu culture expanded the research field of Neolithic archaeology in China, indicating that splendid and ancient Neolithic culture also existed in the Yangtze River basin.
According to research, after the ancestors of Fujiashan settled down, planting rice was their main food. It is based on the use of bone-gnawing farm tools, a large amount of rice mixed in charcoal-sandwiched pottery, and carved patterns of grains and rice grains on pottery. In addition, fishing, hunting and gathering are necessary economic supplements for these ancestors.
Early Neolithic site in southern China, a national key cultural relic protection unit. Located in the northeast of Hemudu Village, Luojiang Township, Yuyao City, with an area of about 40,000 square meters, excavation began on 1973. Hemudu Site is located in Hemudu Town, Yuyao City, about 20 kilometers away from Ningbo City. It is one of the earliest Neolithic cultural sites discovered in China.
