In northern Guangxi, there is such a Zhuang painter named Huang Gesheng, who went deep into the cottage and took it as his duty to publicize Guangxi traditional culture. Hundred Scenes of Lijiang River is a collection of sketches of Lijiang River completed by Huang Gesheng from/kloc-0 to 2005. It consists of five series of works: Lijiang river sketch series, resource sketch series, ancient garden spring scenery series, Shuiyuantou village sketch series and Guanyang sketch series.

Little known is that this work, which took more than 20 years to create, was created during Huang Gesheng's busy official duties.

At that time, Huang Gesheng was not only a painter, but also the vice-chairman of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles of the Autonomous Region and the president of Guangxi Art Institute. However, he took great pains to take the lead. He not only traveled all over Guilin in his busy schedule, but also braved the heat and cold wind to complete the scene.

In the in-depth study of Huang Gesheng, it is found that the themes of famous paintings in past dynasties are mostly famous mountains and rivers or small bridges and flowing water, and the villages with strong local ethnic characteristics and profound national traditional culture accumulation are rarely involved, even if they exist, they are only slightly involved or not fully reflected.

How to further explore the expression language of Guilin landforms, express simple and affectionate villages, and integrate villagers' sincere feelings and personalities into paintings has become a new topic for Huang Gesheng's creative exploration.
