What's in Dongba Valley Ecological Folk Village?
Dongba Palaeozoic Folk Village is a new type of tourist attraction built by adopting a "artisan street" which runs through the layout of six ethnic courtyards under the premise of protecting the original ecological environment. On both sides of the street are six minority villages of Naxi, Lisu, Taliu, Pumi, Tibetan and Qiang. These houses are old, real and primitive. Because the houses and courtyards in the folk village were completely moved here from the original place, they kept the original flavor in particular. The original owner of the house also moved here and continued to maintain the traditional lifestyle. Visitors can enter their rooms and observe their daily life. Anyway, what should they do? If tourists are interested in something, they can ask them questions and they will answer them. Although they can't speak Mandarin well, they will enthusiastically answer your questions and introduce their own culture and customs to tourists.
Entering the folk village, I first saw a big stone standing at the entrance of the village, engraved with the words "Dongba Valley". There are words "Welcome to Dongba Valley" on the wall, and there are six words on the wall next door that we don't know, which should be Dongba's "Welcome to Dongba Valley". Entering the village is the bustling "artisan street". In front of us is a big straw sandals, which reads "A Chinese Odyssey". At first glance, it is specially made to cater to tourists. There are many shops on Craftsman Street, which show tourists the making process of folk handicrafts of ethnic minorities in northwest Yunnan. There are knocking silversmiths' shops, workshops for making tofu, and wood carving booths carved on the spot. The stall owner can engrave the name you need on the log board painted by the Chinese Zodiac for free, and sell a medium-sized log carving 15 yuan. There are also traditional hand-woven fabrics on the street. The woman who is weaving is about 50 years old and wears national costume. When she saw my camera aimed at her, she immediately turned her head and gave a professional smile.
Guided by the tour guide, we successively entered the courtyards of three ethnic minorities. The first one was called "He stayed at home". The biggest feature of this nation is the "sleeping love" of girls. Girls will have a separate room when they grow up, and they can sleep in the same bed with seven boys, but they can't be deviant. Finally, choose one of these seven people to get married. In the Lisu place, we saw "going up the knife and burning down the mountain", just for loyalty, we can walk barefoot on the charcoal fire and lick the red-hot plowshares with our tongues. I also visited a Pumi family. The house is made of wooden boards, with only doors and no windows. It was dark in the room and there was a suffocating smell of fireworks. The tour guide once said that people here value fat and black. After seeing their true colors, don't be surprised, thinking that they "take poverty as beauty" is just the real life of the ethnic minorities in China.
