Spark Plug Replacement Video Tutorial
The spark plug is a component used to ignite a mixture of combustible gases when a car engine is working. Every time a car does work, it basically needs spark plugs to complete the ignition work. Therefore, spark plugs, as a common consumable in automobiles, need to be tested and replaced on a regular basis.
There are two kinds of malfunctions often encountered in spark plugs: one is that there are deposits in the spark plugs, and the other is that the spark plugs are badly ablated.
The top of the insulator and electrodes of the spark plug are often contaminated with deposits such as oil, which may prevent the engine from working properly. Frequently encountered spark plug deposits include oil and black soot layers. Most will only work properly if they are cleaned.
If the top of the spark plug is scarred or damaged and the electrodes are melted or burned, this means that the spark plug is burned, at which point it needs to be replaced. The most commonly encountered phenomena of spark plug ablation are: melted electrodes and white insulators, broken insulators, rounded electrodes and scarred insulators. These phenomena basically require immediate replacement of the spark plug.
So how do you replace a spark plug?
The first task is to prepare the disassembly tools, including 10mm, 14mm and 16mm sockets, long extensions, ratchet wrenches, magnetic rods, rags and so on.
1. After the engine has cooled completely, unplug the high-pressure package and then remove the retaining bolt with the 10-millimeter socket. After removing the high pressure package, you can see the spark plug in the cylinder.
2. Depending on the size of the spark plug nut, loosen it counterclockwise with a 14mm or 16mm long connecting rod socket, then suck out the spark plug with a magnetic rod;
3. If you don't install a new spark plug immediately after removing the spark plug, insert the high-pressure pack back in or plug the spark plug hole with a rag to prevent the dirt from falling in;
4. Hold the new spark plug with a magnetic rod and insert it into the hole, and then reinstall it following the opposite process above. The torque on the upper spark plug should not be too high, about 20N·m okay;
5. After replacing all the spark plugs, start the engine to see if any of the spark plugs are not working properly.
Here is a video tutorial on spark plug replacement, I hope it will help your friends.
