Qingshui Township, Ji 'an District, Jiangxi Province
The whole village Committee is located in the hilly area of the south of the Yangtze River, with few mountains and single crops. There are no convenient land and water transportation channels, and the economic conditions are bad. The annual per capita income of light farmers is less than10.5 million yuan. After the reform and opening up, a large number of people of insight went out to work, leaving behind 70-and 80-year-old people and toddlers at home. The whole village is lonely everywhere, which really reflects Tao Yuanming's famous portrayal of "traffic in different places, chickens and dogs hear each other" Of course, this depiction does not highlight wealth, but describes loneliness. At the same time, through going out to work, the living standards of the villagers have gradually improved, and the per capita annual income has also increased significantly.
In modern infrastructure, it is still relatively backward. For example, in 1994, the whole village was electrified, and only around 2005 were limited modern life tools such as TV, color TV and mobile phone connected. In the last year or two, only a few slightly wealthy families have access to the Internet. Only in recent years have there been modern agricultural farming facilities such as seedling throwing and machine tillage, but most of them are primitive farming techniques such as cow pulling plough.
In the construction of new countryside, the village has basically realized the construction of infrastructure such as cement roads, cement lanes and internal toilets.
In terms of customs and habits, there used to be a Lantern Festival dance unique to farmers, and there were activities of bodhisattva worship (local dialect) around August of the lunar calendar. These are limited to Tianan 'an Village, Dawu Village and other big villages. The host village organizes young and middle-aged men to participate in the Lantern Festival Dragon Lantern Dance, and old technicians with dragon lantern tying skills tie up the dragon lanterns that form a dragon. There are about 10 to 15 dragon lanterns in a dragon, and with the dragon tail, each dragon lantern is in its original shape, with candles lit inside and pasted with paper to prevent air leakage. Each dragon lantern is placed on a piece of dragon cloth. With the support of 10- 15 people, on the night of the Lantern Festival, they beat gongs and drums and went into thousands of households to celebrate the Lantern Festival. According to the custom, every household greets the dragon lanterns with firecrackers when they enter the room, and sends them away when they leave, and the host also thanks them with gifts (usually cigarettes). When all the families have left, a dragon dance performance will be held in a spacious venue. At this time, firecrackers will ring, gongs and drums will announce the sky, and it will be very lively. There is also an ancient activity, that is, praying to the bodhisattva (local dialect), also called praying to the bodhisattva. The whole activity lasts 3-4 days. This is also a big village and an ancient village like Tianan 'an Village. During the sacrificial ceremony, the host village will ask the famous mage to pray (send documents). There are also two bodhisattvas. Bodhisattva must be polished before offering, and the whole body is completely decorated, which is very beautiful. Bodhisattva is the protagonist of worship, one sitting is called Buddha, the other standing with a steel hammer, and the fierce one is called Pioneer, which is very dignified. Then the mage does all kinds of actions and reads all kinds of words at 1 all day long. The day of worship is probably the day after the book is published. Bodhisattva will be put on an ancient sedan chair and carried by eight people, just like the scene of the emperor's patrol on TV. Colorful flags fluttered, gongs and drums announced the sky, and people were buzzing. It's so lively to go to every neighboring village to worship. On the day of the tour, adults and children, men and women, old and young, all wanted to follow Bodhisattva around every village. The scene was unforgettable.
