The women's dress of Tang Dynasty is the representative and model of Chinese traditional dress, which has become one of the symbols of Tang culture with its numerous styles, colorful tones, gorgeous patterns, and graceful and luxurious decorative styles. And the 襦襦裙装 of the Tang Dynasty not only has a strong national color, and with its unique fashion has become an important representative of the Tang Dynasty clothing.

襦襦裙服 refers to the traditional attire of the Tang women who wore a short jacket or shirt on top, a long skirt underneath, a poncho, and a half-arm (i.e. short sleeves). The term 襦 in the Tang Dynasty refers to a jacket or cotton garment with a narrow and short bodice. When a Tang woman wore a jacket, it was tied into her skirt, unlike in other dynasties. In the early Tang Dynasty, the 襦 was more conservative, mostly with a cross neck and straight neck, in the Sheng Tang Dynasty, due to the extensive communication and open-mindedness, the 襦 was popular with a bare neck, and it was recorded in the history books of the Tang Dynasty, that only people of status were allowed to wear an open-breasted shirt, concubines and princesses could be half-bare-chested, and songstresses could be half-bare-chested to please the ruling class, while the women of the common people's families were not allowed to be half-bare-chested.

Tang Dynasty women's clothing 襦裙装中装饰包括:帔帛, o crotch, half arm, pasted, power蓠, drapery cap and shawl. Capi is influenced by the Western culture, evolved from the Western peoples and foreign costumes. o crotch is a kind of short-sleeved jacket over the outside of the large-sleeved coat without covering the large sleeves. Half-arm and pasted together is also a short-sleeved coat, the style of short-sleeved in the shirt, the body and shirt Qi and big sleeves. Power Gracilaria and hat are Tang Dynasty women traveling, to cover the face of the hat. Power ogonori skirt can cover the body, to the Yong Hui years later, the hat skirt shortened to the neck, thus called curtain hat. The shawl is evolved from the narrow and long cape, and later gradually became draped over the arms, dancing in front and behind the ribbon, which is the typical dress of ancient Chinese ladies, most prevalent in the Sheng Tang Dynasty and the Five Dynasties.

There are also a few "overshirts", which are worn from the top, with a wide neckline and an open-breasted shape. The hemline of the half-arm can be shown outside, or it can be tied inside the waist of the skirt like a short jacket. Judging from the frescoes and pottery maids that have come down to us, this kind of clothing must be worn with underwear (such as a short jacket), and cannot be used on its own.
