When is "Halloween"?
Halloween is All Saints' Day, also called Halloween. Ghost Festival is the eve of Halloween. Halloween is celebrated on November 1 every year and has a long history, dating back to the customs of the indigenous Celts of Western Europe in BC, with strong superstitions.
Long before the Roman Empire marched westward, the Celts lived and thrived in the British Isles and France. They believed that on October 31 each year, the spirits of the dead would emerge from their graves. Therefore, on this night, good food was to be cooked and the ghosts of dead relatives were to visit and enjoy it. At the same time, bonfires were to be lit in the wilderness of Shangchu, and the flames were to be used to drive away the demons and ghosts. They themselves are wearing animal skins and masks, dressed as ghosts, singing and dancing around the bonfire, playing until late at night. This is the original form of the Ghost Festival.
