School History

In 1 985, the Tibetan Medicine Department of Tibet University was set up.

In September 1983, the Tibetan Medical School of Tibet Autonomous Region was set up.

In September 1989, approved by the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the Department of Tibetan Medicine of Tibet University and the Tibetan Medical School of the Tibet Autonomous Region merged to create the Tibetan Medical School of Tibet University.?

In February 1993, the State Education Commission approved the independent establishment of Tibetan Medicine School of Tibet University as Medicine King Mountain Tibetan Medicine School.

In 1996, the college successively established the Teaching Pharmaceutical Factory of Tibet Tibetan Medical College and the Teaching Clinic of Tibet Tibetan Medical College.

In 1999, it was approved as the master's degree conferring point of Ethnic Medicine (Tibetan Medicine).

In 2001, the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China approved the renaming of the Tibetan Medical College.

In 2006, the college passed the assessment of the level of teaching work of undergraduates of ordinary institutions of higher education by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, and the conclusion of the assessment was "qualified".

In 2010, the college was recognized as a unit of "Pilot Project of Reform of Talent Cultivation Mode of Tibetan Medicine" in the pilot project of national education system reform.

January 5, 2011, and Harbin Medical University signed a counterpart support agreement, Harbin Medical University counterpart support Tibetan Medicine College. In the same year, the Teaching Outpatient Department of Tibet Tibetan Medical College was upgraded to the Affiliated Hospital of Tibet Tibetan Medical College.

In June 2016, the People's Government of the Tibet Autonomous Region and the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine signed an agreement to *** build the Tibet Medical College.

On November 30, 2018, the Ministry of Education agreed to change the name of the Tibetan Medical College of Tibet to the Tibetan University of Tibetan Medicine, and at the same time, the establishment of the Tibetan Medical College of Tibet was withdrawn.
On December 10, the foundation stone laying ceremony was held for the construction project of the new campus of the Tibetan University of Tibetan Medicine
