In order to cultivate children's awareness of environmental protection, we collect food waste from our lives and combine it with autumn leaves as composting materials to make compost, hoping that this activity will make children understand that there are treasures everywhere in life. This is a very meaningful activity for the kindergarten. When the children bring the food waste from home back to the garden, we all participate in it as a family and feel the beauty of nature.

Composting is a traditional and modern discipline, the purpose of composting is through a series of scientific process steps, the decomposition of a variety of organic waste into a stable, harmless organic fertilizer products suitable for soil fertilization.

Composting is generally divided into aerobic composting and anaerobic composting. Aerobic composting refers to the decomposition of organic materials in the presence of oxygen, the metabolites are mainly carbon dioxide, water and heat.

Anaerobic composting is the decomposition of organic materials in the absence of oxygen, anaerobic decomposition of the final metabolite is methane, carbon dioxide and many low molecular weight intermediate products, such as organic acids. Traditional composting is mainly anaerobic composting, while most modern composting systems use aerobic composting.
