In Puxian County, technicians from the Agricultural Resources Center are explaining the floating seedling raising technology to tobacco farmers. This is the first tobacco seedling planting technology popularized in our province, which not only saves time and effort, but also has a high survival rate of tobacco seedlings.

At present, it is the season of tobacco seedling. In order to cultivate strong seedlings and improve the survival rate of tobacco seedlings, the agricultural resources center introduced advanced floating seedling raising technology, went deep into tobacco planting bases and explained the floating seedling raising management technology to tobacco farmers. Now it has entered the seedling stage. First, we should pay attention to burning seedlings and cutting leaves at high temperature. Second, we should pay attention to test seedlings without water. Third, we should spray pesticides to prevent diseases and control aphids.

Puxian County is one of the major tobacco-growing counties in the province. For many years, the traditional civil bed seedling raising method has been adopted. Compared with traditional seedling raising methods, the introduction of new floating seedling raising technology has the advantages of reducing transplanting labor, saving seedling raising land and facilitating tobacco seedling management.

Wang Baoping, a technician of Puxian Agricultural Resources Center, said that floating seedling raising is a soilless culture, which uses water to provide nutrients for tobacco seedling growth, and solves the problems of large space occupation, high labor intensity and low survival rate in the past. It is a practical and advanced seedling raising method at present.

In order to popularize the floating seedling raising technology, the technicians of agricultural resources center explained the floating seedling raising management technology to tobacco farmers in detail through training, on-site guidance and follow-up service, so that tobacco farmers in the county tasted the sweetness of scientific and technological farming.

Wang Changjiang, a tobacco grower, said that traditional seedling raising was used in previous years, and floating seedling raising was used this year, which was 20 days earlier than traditional seedling raising. There were more Miao Zhuang and roots, and the seedling stage was short after transplanting in the field, and the survival rate was 100%.

It is understood that this year, our county has given strong support to tobacco farmers in policy and technology, guided tobacco farmers to farm with science and technology, improved the quality and survival rate of tobacco leaves, fully mobilized the enthusiasm of tobacco farmers, and laid a solid foundation for high yield and bumper harvest of tobacco farmers.
