Author Biography of Funny Lantern Riddles Collection
Liu Er'an (1951- ), a native of Anyang, Henan Province. He is a member of Chinese Folk Literary Artists Association, director of Henan Provincial Folk Literary Artists Association, vice-chairman of Anyang City Folk Literary Artists Association, vice-director of Academic Committee of Chinese Lantern Riddles of CNA, and chairman of Lantern Riddles Academic Committee of Henan Provincial People's Association. He has edited and published more than 20 kinds of lantern riddle books, such as Chinese Riddle Library, Dictionary of Contemporary Chinese Lantern Riddle Artists, Chinese Lantern Riddle Yearbook, Chinese Lantern Riddle Art Album, Selected Lantern Riddles of the 20th Century, and New Lantern Riddles, etc. In 1989, he founded National Lantern Riddle Information Riddle Magazine, and in 2001 he founded the National Lantern Riddle Information Network, which initiated and presided over the first China Ancient Capital Lantern Riddle Art Festival (1990), the domestic and overseas lantern riddle creation contests, and the Chinese and foreign lantern riddle creation competitions. From 1988 to now, he has been planning and organizing more than 20 lantern riddle competitions in Henan Province, and in 2005, he was the main compiler of lantern riddles for the CCTV Lantern Festival Gala, "Watching Lanterns, Guessing Riddles and Haunting Lantern Festival". In 1998, he was honored as one of the "Top Ten Lantern Riddle Workers in China" by the Chinese Lantern Riddle Academic Committee of the Chinese Folk Literary Artists Association. He has won many awards for thesis, creation and guessing of lantern riddles. His work has been included in Chinese Literary Artists Biography, Chinese Contemporary Literary Artists Dictionary, Henan Contemporary Cultural Celebrities Dictionary, Henan Literary Arts Yearbook and other dictionaries, and has been introduced in Workers' Daily, Market News, Dahe News, Today's An News, Anyang Daily, Culture and Entertainment, Knowledge Window and other newspapers and magazines.
