Can you replace the light switch on the wall with a five-hole socket?

It depends on the wiring inside the socket box.

In general, there are only two wires entering the socket box: one is connected to the upper connector of the switch, the other is connected to the lower connector of the switch, and is connected to the zero line through the electric light. This situation cannot be changed to a five-hole socket, because the zero line is connected in series with the electric lamp.

Sometimes, for the convenience of wiring, the electrician may have a third wire (zero wire) passing through the socket box (unconnected). At this time, it can be changed into a five-hole socket, but it is a bit unsafe because there is no ground wire. If the fourth (ground wire) passes through, it can be completely converted into a five-hole socket.
