"Jasmine Flower" was adapted from China folk song "Huadiao" by He Fang, and was first released as a single on 1957.

On March 2 1 day, 2003, at the first meeting of the Standing Committee of the Fifth People's Congress in Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province, the song was designated as the city song of Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province.
