Buyi custom

1, Festival. Buyi people have many traditional festivals, except New Year's Day, Dragon Boat Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, which are similar to those of Han people. Festivals on March 3rd, April 8th and June 6th all have their own characteristics.

2. Marriage customs. Historically, the marriage customs of Buyi people vary from place to place. There are marriages arranged by parents and completely independent marriages. According to historical records, Buyi people had their own marriages before the Ming Dynasty. After the Ming Dynasty, due to frequent exchanges between various ethnic groups and frequent cultural exchanges, the marriage customs of Buyi people gradually changed, and the marriage was changed from independent choice to absolute arrangement by parents.

3. Funeral. Before the Qing Dynasty, the funeral of Buyi people was cremation without graves. It was not until the middle of Qing Dynasty that tombs and monuments were gradually built. When the old man died, he paid tribute to his uncle's family and close relatives and friends, and invited the Bumo people of his own nation to choose an auspicious day for a funeral.

4. Taboo. On New Year's Day, we don't unpack, sweep the floor, comb our hair or dry our clothes. Don't break the ground from the first day to the third day, and don't move the knife on the fifteenth day of the first month. This food can only be twisted by hand.
