Why is Hucun Ancient Village called "Living Fossil of Huizhou Ancient Culture"?

Hucun Ancient Village is located at Jixi East 18km, which is an ancient village with "closed lions" and locked gardens. There will be Wan Ding Temple, the first tomb of the Millennium, and the centennial genealogy. This is the only way between ancient Huizhou and Hangzhou. The village still retains thousand-year-old trees, ancient tombs of the Song Dynasty, ancient bridges and pavilions, as well as ancient residents, ancient gatehouses and ancient ancestral temples. It is built on the mountain and stretches like a three-dimensional landscape painting.

Walking in a narrow alley, only one person can walk. Locals called it "One Lane", and they came to an unusual ancestral temple in Huizhou-Zhangshi Ancestral Temple, which has been restored to its former glory after renovation. The plaque at the entrance of the ancestral temple is very interesting. From the left, it says Long live the people's commune, from the middle, Long live the general line, from the right, it's different, I can't remember it clearly. In short, it is the product of an era and has different historical significance. There is a Ming Dynasty Panlong Champs in the ancestral hall, and there are six crumbling Panlong carved on the column, which represents the highest level of Huizhou woodcarving and is a unique woodcarving. This is a prop of the traditional culture swing in Hucun. When a man in Hucun reaches the age of 40, he must "put on a show", that is, carry out large-scale entertainment activities such as "swinging and carrying pavilions". ? The swing is windmill-shaped, and the runner rotates slowly on the flower boat. The flower boat is carried by people, and the runner hangs a movable swivel chair. A young girl, dressed in ancient costume, sat in a chair, singing the emblem and playing with it. The pavilion is a kapok square box with carved flowers around it. Two or three young children are dressed as operas, and the actors are fixed on the pavilion with steel bars according to the characters. The scene is breathtaking and can be called Jiangnan stunt. Twenty-four filial piety pictures were engraved on the second entrance board of the ancestral hall, and some words were destroyed, but it still fully reflected the concept of Huizhou people governing their families with filial piety in ancient times.

Out of the ancestral temple, along the tortuous stone road, you will arrive at Shuijie. Water Street was built in Ming Dynasty. It skillfully uses the terrain to build ancient buildings. It is built on the mountain and stretches like a three-dimensional landscape painting.

There are a group of buildings beside the water street. It is said that this is the home of a cultured person in Hucun. There are five buildings. From the outside, they are separate, but in fact, the interior of the house is connected. You can walk around the house at will. What a miracle! The brick carving of the gatehouse on the gate is the best in Huizhou. Every brick carving is a rare treasure, including Chen Qiao mutiny, three visits to the thatched cottage, fishing and firewood farming, birds and animals, flowers, trees, bamboo and trees, pavilions, landscapes, boats, babao Bo Gu (vases) and so on, which has a strange and deformed romantic beauty. Brick carving can reach the highest level of nine, and the gradual change is wonderful. Therefore, Hucun is also called "the first village of China gatehouse".
