What are the main buildings of Miao nationality?

Miao architecture is dominated by wood, bamboo and stone, supplemented by earth, lime and tile.

Miao architecture includes diaojiao building, Miao floor-standing house and Miao fork house. The diaojiao building consists of four rows of three rooms, and some have built one or two "slant buildings" in addition to the main rooms. Each wooden building is divided into three floors. The upper floor stores food, the middle floor houses people, and the lower floor is fenced for stacking sundries or raising livestock. The room is spacious and bright, with symmetrical doors and windows. A "beauty table" was set up on the third floor for young girls to watch and show their beauty.

Miao flat houses are distributed in some flat areas in eastern Guizhou and western Hunan. Miao's houses are generally floor-standing, and the central column is built directly on the flat ground without hanging feet. The houses with five columns, seven melons, three rows, seven columns, nine melons and three rows are different, mainly three floors. The first floor is the ground floor, and the left and right rows are rooms for daily life, extending to two or three rooms, with the nave in the middle row and the shrine behind.

Some Miao people in northeastern Yunnan and northwestern Guizhou used to live in a very simple "fork house". The "fork house" doesn't hit the foundation, but just flattens the ground a little. Roof trusses are mostly composed of natural trunks and branches without peeling. The walls and roofs are sandwiched with thatch, leaves and bark, and some are surrounded by bamboo fences.
