Advantages and disadvantages of building 1 10kV or 220kV substation.

With the continuous improvement of the voltage level of the national grid, it is possible that the 220kV substation will gradually become a distribution interruption. However, the integrated automation of 1 10kV substation is qualitatively different from that of 220kV and above substations.

In terms of power supply reliability, 220kV and above are obviously higher than 1 10kV substation, so the primary connection mode is very different. According to the specific conditions of the project, 1 10kV substation is obviously simple.

On the electrical side, 1 10kV realizes three-phase primary reclosing (there is a strict difference between pressure calibration and synchronous calibration). It is required to realize comprehensive reclosing (voltage verification or synchronization verification) in 220kV and above substations. In terms of protection configuration, 1110kV and below only need to be equipped with1set of complete protection, and 220kV (including lines and electrical equipment) and above need to be equipped with two sets of main protection, which are independent of each other. Two sets of different protective devices from the same manufacturer or the same protective device from different manufacturers. The purpose is to ensure that when an electrical fault occurs, the fault is completely eliminated to ensure the safety of the equipment. Switches work in different ways. Specific details can be discussed, or refer to relevant materials.

Communication: 1 10kV and above basically belong to a single Ethernet structure, and the whole set of devices are all concentrated in the main control room. 220kV and above all belong to double-network structure and distributed installation. Especially for large substations, special protection rooms are set up. The main control room and communication room are relatively independent, but they are both in the main control building.

The above explanation is only my personal opinion, and there may be some shortcomings. I hope more experts or engineers will discuss with me. Try to help colleagues in need as much as possible.
