Contents of the 2018 examination for students with special talents in arts, science and technology and sports in Dongcheng District, Beijing. When Dongcheng District announced the list and projects of schools recruiting students with special talents from primary school to junior high school in 2015, it also announced the examination standards for students with special talents in art, science and technology, and students with sports talents.

1. Art Objective evaluation of students’ artistic literacy, professional knowledge and skills, teamwork and collaboration, etc.

1. Instrumental music: Have standardized performance skills, proficient music reading and sight-reading abilities, be able to perform complete works, and have good musical expression.

Test contents: ① Play two works of your own choice; ② Play scales and arpeggios in no less than two keys of your own choice; ③ Sight-read a piece of music by drawing lots on the spot; ④ Model singing of single notes, intervals, and chords by drawing lots on the spot.

2. Dance: Have physical conditions that meet the requirements of dance, good flexibility, strong muscle control, musicality and dance expression.

Test content: ① Performance of excerpts from self-selected plays; ② Basic skills test (softness, strength, expressiveness, explosive power); ③ Select designated music on site for improvisational performance.

3. Vocal music: Have good vocal conditions and singing skills, proficient music reading and sight-singing abilities, and good musical expression.

Test content: ① Sing 1-2 songs of your choice (excluding popular singing methods); ② Select a "2 rising and 2 falling" sight-singing piece on the spot to test the basic knowledge of music; ③ Select a "two-part" sight-singing piece on the spot.

4. Opera: Have good vocal conditions and singing and reciting skills, physical conditions and basic skills required for the industry, and good stage performance.

Exam content: ① Perform excerpts from a play of your choice; ② Select a basic knowledge question on the spot; ③ Comprehensive examination of singing, chanting, and playing.

5. Drama (including hosting) with good appearance and sound conditions, good imagination, understanding, expression, passion and adaptability.

Mandarin standard.

Test content: ① Sing a song of your own choice ② Select a physical (dance or gymnastics) performance clip of your own choice; ③ Select a piece of prose or poetry to recite on the spot; ④ Select a designated proposition on the spot and perform an impromptu performance.

6. Painting: Have good composition, painting, modeling abilities and strong aesthetic and creative ideas.

Test content: Complete ① a proposition painting creation ② a sketch of a head ③ geometric shapes ④ color still life.

(Choose any one of the above four items, and the test time is within 90 minutes).

7. Have good writing skills in calligraphy (including soft and hard pens), no limit on fonts, accurate writing styles, reasonable layout, unified style, and coordination of the position and size of the title and the main text.

Exam content: Complete a creative work on-site, and the examination time is within 60 minutes.

2. Science and Technology: Examine from aspects such as scientific attitude, scientific spirit, scientific values, scientific knowledge and methods, and scientific and technological practical ability.

The above examination contents are in no particular order.

3. Sports The content of the examination for students with sports talents is divided into two parts: physical fitness part and special part.

Physical fitness is a must test for all registered students, and the special test content for each project will be determined based on the projects that schools with traditional programs recruit students with special talents.

Technical assessment will be carried out at the same time as the special examination.

Physical fitness includes: 50-meter run, standing long jump, and medicine ball throwing. Recruitment projects include: track and field, football, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, swimming, martial arts, taekwondo, and orienteering.

The enrollment of students with special talents in each traditional program school shall be based on the admission brochure.
