What are the treatment methods of lung cancer?

The treatment of lung cancer is divided into two major parts, firstly, after obtaining the pathology, the lung cancer is divided into two categories: small-cell lung cancer and non-small-cell lung cancer. If it is small-cell lung cancer, chemotherapy and radiotherapy will be the main comprehensive treatment. If it is non-small-cell lung cancer, it should be divided into adenocarcinoma and non-adenocarcinoma. If it is adenocarcinoma, it is necessary to decide whether or not to apply targeted drugs according to the genetic mutation. If it is non-adenocarcinoma, comprehensive treatment is the mainstay. For all non-small cell lung cancer, the first step is to evaluate its clinical stage. Before stage IIIA, surgical resection, that is radical surgery, should be pursued, and the subsequent treatment will be decided according to the pathology after surgery. If the patient cannot be operated, we have to consider whether it is mutated or non-mutated, and according to this, we have to decide the path of targeted therapy or radiotherapy. There are also some advanced lung cancers that have no chance of surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy. These patients should be given the best supportive treatment, or apply some corresponding molecular targeted drug therapy through genetic testing, or even the latest immunotherapy to prolong the survival of the patients.
