Guangde, Anhui, China's Top Ten Bamboo Towns

Guangde County is located in the southeast of Anhui Province, at the junction of Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Anhui provinces, with an area of 2 156 square kilometers. 1The population at the end of 1998 was 505,600, including Han, Hui, Yi, Zhuang, Man, Mongolia and Buyi, with the minority population accounting for 0.02%. It has jurisdiction over 7 towns, 22 townships, 280 administrative villages, 13 residents' committees, 42 14 villagers' groups and17 residents' groups. It belongs to Xuancheng City, Anhui Province.

Guangde is rich in bamboo chestnuts and is known as the hometown of bamboo chestnuts.

Guangde Phyllostachys pubescens ranks seventh in China, and all kinds of bamboo craft products are exported to all parts of the world. 1999, the 4th China Zhuxiang Friendship Association was successfully held.
