Inheritance and Protection of Yangliuqing New Year Pictures
Yangliuqing New Year Pictures are the representatives of Chinese New Year Pictures, which play an important role in the development history of China folk culture and Tianjin culture. Due to historical reasons, Yangliuqing woodcut New Year pictures once declined, and all of them closed down during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, with the worst losses. After the founding of New China, the rescue work of Yangliuqing New Year pictures began immediately.
From 65438 to 0952, the Central People's Government sent personnel to conduct a special investigation on Yangliuqing New Year pictures, and soon sent 500 yuan money to the only remaining New Year pictures workshop in the town.

1958, Tianjin Rong Baozhai merged with Deyu Palace Painting Academy to form Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Academy, which was later renamed Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society. Its establishment made Yangliuqing woodblock New Year Pictures the earliest art type protected by the state through the establishment of professional business units in China.
Subsequently, the state invested a lot of manpower, material resources and financial resources to support the rescue of Yangliuqing New Year pictures-the painting society searched everywhere and collected more than 6,000 ancient New Year pictures and 1 10,000 samples of New Year pictures after the Ming Dynasty; Moreover, there are many old artists in the painting society, and all the production techniques of Yangliuqing woodcut New Year pictures are completely preserved.

In the 1990s, with the rapid development of economy and the change of home environment, the demand for offset printing New Year pictures dropped sharply, and the management of painting clubs was once in trouble. Later, the traditional woodcut hand-painted New Year pictures were favored again as works of art, and the output increased year by year.
In addition to Yangliuqing New Year Pictures Society, since 1990s, folk New Year Pictures workshops have reappeared in Yangliuqing. The Huo family, represented by Huo Qingshun and Huo Qingyou, founded the first New Year picture workshop in Yangliuqing Town.
In 2004, Tianjin Yangliuqing Woodblock New Year Pictures were approved by the Ministry of Culture as "the pilot project of China national folk culture protection project", and the historical tracing, sorting and research of Yangliuqing Woodblock New Year Pictures began.
In the same year, Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Yangliuqing Painting Society held "Tianjin Yangliuqing Woodblock New Year Pictures Protection Project Seminar and Yangliuqing Painting Society Collection Exhibition" in Tianjin.
In 2005, China Art Museum held "China Tianjin Yangliuqing Woodblock New Year Pictures Exhibition".
On June 8, 2006, Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society won the first Cultural Heritage Day Award from the Ministry of Culture.
On May 20th, 2006, Yangliuqing New Year Pictures were approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list.
In 2007, Yangliuqing Painting Society was rated as an old shop in Tianjin and became a landmark brand shop in Tianjin.
On June 5, 2007, determined by the Ministry of Culture, Huo Qingshun, Huo Qingyou, Feng Qingju and Wang Wenda from Tianjin were the representative inheritors of this cultural heritage project, and they were included in the list of 226 representative inheritors of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects.

Following the Huo brothers, Yangliuqing Town has nearly 50 New Year pictures workshops and more than 60 New Year pictures shops, and more than 700 people are engaged in the production and sales of New Year pictures, with an annual turnover of more than 6,543,800 yuan. The production of Yangliuqing New Year pictures has initially formed industrialization, which has promoted economic development and expanded its influence day by day.
According to the data, Yangliuqing Painting Society has preserved 6,508 kinds of ancient editions, including: 1.305 kinds of complete printable editions, accounting for 5,643 kinds; Loose version is 865 yuan. There are 700 kinds and 4056 colorful New Year pictures preserved since the Ming Dynasty. 20 18 kinds and 6808 pieces of line drawing blanks; Traditional techniques such as hook, engraving, printing, painting and mounting of Tianjin Yangliuqing woodblock New Year pictures have been completely preserved, and a large number of skilled old artists, represented by Pan and Zhang Xingze, have played a great role in the inheritance and research of New Year pictures. At the same time, Tianjin Yangliuqing Painting Society has also trained nearly 200 professional artists and creators, forming a unique style of Yangliuqing New Year pictures.
