Chaoshan culture research paper

Chaoshan culture can be traced back to 6000 BC. The cultural relics unearthed in recent years are enough to prove that Chaoshan has a long history.

1, from 6000 BC to 222 BC, Chaoshan area was called the land spread to the south, belonging to "Yangzhou territory", with a sparse population, and the residents living here belonged to a branch of Baiyue. We will divide this long period of 8000 years into four stages according to the types of archaeological culture. These four stages are: (1) Xiangshan culture, (2) Chen Qiao culture, (3) Houshan-Fu Bin culture and (4) Nanyue culture. During this period, Chaoshan was less directly influenced by the Central Plains culture, and the local culture was strong. Archaeological data show that the Chaoshan culture in this period is consistent with the Minnan culture in the East, and later the invasion of the South Vietnamese culture in the West changed the original appearance of Chaoshan culture. At this stage, the historical and cultural process in Chaoshan area lags behind not only the Central Plains, but also the surrounding areas. In the Book of Rites, there is a record of "Na Man, inscribed with a cross (meaning depicting the intersection of forehead muscles and toes)".

2. From 222 BC to 960 BC, China culture entered and indigenous culture was China-oriented. At that time, the Yue people living in Chaoshan were full of rebellious spirit, which was described in Historical Records, Huainanzi, Later Han Shu and other ancient books. For example, Huai Nan Zi, when recording the Qin army's invasion to the south (2 13 BC), said that the Vietnamese people had all retreated into the mountains, "keeping company with animals, not willing to be Lu Qin", elected "Jie Jun" as a general, launched a night attack and defeated Qin Jun, "killing the captain and killing the corpse, bleeding hundreds of thousands". The description is extremely vivid. However, no matter how brave and good at fighting, the Vietnamese people could not resist the far-advanced Qin and Han armies. The year after Wei Tusui was killed (2 14 BC), the Qin Dynasty sent Zhao Tuo to lead the exiled criminals to send troops to the whole country. After that, about 100, the Han army and its families entered Lingnan area together and gradually "mixed with the Vietnamese". It was at that time that Shilu (or Lu Jian) dug a canal for the army to transport grain, and then "stayed at home to uncover the ridge", which became the pioneer of Han people's migration to tidal land in history. During the Ding Yuan period of the Western Han Dynasty, Fu Bo's general Lü bode led the army to conquer South Vietnam, which made the South Vietnam branch of Baiyue people perish together with Dongyue and Minyue. Due to the continuous sinicization, most tribes of Baiyue people gradually merged into a unified Chinese nation. Since then, the word "Yue" has basically disappeared from the historical records, except for the "Mountain Yue" in the Three Kingdoms period and the occasional record of "Governor Lingnan, Baiyue fell" in the tenth year of Emperor Wendi of Sui Dynasty (A.D. 590), and the descendants of Baiyue who have not been sinicized are collectively called "Nan Man".

Since 3.960, Chaoshan culture has flourished. The Chaozhou native subtype of Han culture was gradually formed after the large-scale migration of Minnan immigrants after the Song and Yuan Dynasties. Since then, Chaoshan culture has entered a period of rapid development. Mr. Weng Huidong pointed out in On Zou Lu in the Seaside: "Chaozhou culture was rich in the Song Dynasty, but in the Yuan Dynasty, it actually surged in the Ming Dynasty." "if it is thick, it will flow first ... so there is a leaf in the early Qing dynasty, and the fashion will flow in the Ming dynasty." According to historical records, at the end of the Song Dynasty, in 3 17 years, hipsters graduated * * * 172 people; In the last 276 years of Ming dynasty, hipsters 157. During the Jiajing and Wanli periods of the Ming Dynasty, as many as 170 people worked in Beijing, which is a miracle for Chaozhou in the corner of the South China Sea. The saying "Imperial Street speaks vernacular" happened in the Ming Dynasty. The prosperity of humanities will inevitably lead to the prosperity of culture, and the cultural advantage of "those who have accumulated a lot will flow first" will inevitably have a positive and far-reaching impact on the cultural development of chaozhou people as a whole.
