Forty or fifty years ago, American society strongly opposed the circumcision of newborn boys, thinking it was extremely inhuman. But then medicine and facts gradually proved that the operation was harmless, so more and more people accepted it. But until now, this is still a very controversial topic. It sounds reasonable that both sides hold their own words.

We don't have this habit in China. Most people in China, like Americans 50 years ago, strongly oppose this habit and find it hard to accept. I don't think I've heard of any hospital in China that performs such an operation on newborns.
