Take your wife to see you, treat her as a servant, and give her gifts, such as being strict with your loved ones, and being indifferent to the ceremony, such as offering sacrifices. Subverting superiors and subordinates, resisting parents, and then wife's pet-name ruby, wife's aggression, if so, can it be described as filial piety? Confucian scholars said: Marry your wife, your wife will be sacrificed, and your son will guard the ancestral temple, so it is very important. Answer: This is also a wrong statement. Although he can do his best, he is still a gentleman. In countries where the meaning is violence and disability, saints will kill the world and punish them. The mob will live, and the world will not be hurt, but for disabled parents, the world will be deeply degraded (30). There is no injustice! Therefore, it is unfilial to be a minister, unfilial to be a son, unfilial to be a brother, and unfilial to others. Don't say anything after the husband holds it. Those who learn a skill of benevolence and righteousness will govern people when they are big, be officials when they are small, be partial when they are far away, cultivate their morality when they are near, be unjust and unreasonable, do things for the benefit of the world, and be straight when they are doing things, and the benefit will stop (38). If you think that the deceased is really there, you are really stupid; If you know that the deceased is no longer alive, it is hypocritical to go to him. Confucianism always goes to the wedding banquet in person, wears black dresses, works as a servant, pulls the reins in person, puts the bride on the belt of climbing the car, and is as respectful as driving a car for her parents. The solemnity of a wedding is like offering sacrifices to ancestors. Reversing the order from top to bottom, disobeying parents, lowering the status of parents to the same as that of his wife's eldest son, and raising the status of his wife's eldest son to the same as that of his parents, can he be called a dutiful son? Confucianism says: Marry a wife and offer sacrifices together; Only when you have a son can someone guard the ancestral temple. Pay attention. We replied: this is nonsense. Their brothers guarded the ancestral temple for decades and mourned for him for only one year after his death; Their sister-in-law and sister-in-law also worshipped their ancestors, but they did not mourn for her after their death. It can be seen that he mourned for three years after the death of his wife and eldest son, certainly not because they kept the ancestral temple and offered sacrifices. It's a big mistake to be so partial to your wife and eldest son. It's also hypocritical to say that it respects your parents. Isn't it treacherous to love selfish people and look down on people who should be respected?
Confucianism adheres to the theory of "destiny" and holds that: life and short, poverty and wealth, stability and danger, governance and chaos are all determined by fate and cannot be changed; Poverty and success, reward or punishment, good luck or disaster are fixed, and human wisdom and strength cannot be changed. When officials listen to this argument, they will slack off their duties; If ordinary people listen to this argument, they will waste production. If officials neglect political affairs, society will be chaotic, agricultural production will be delayed and the country will be poor. Poverty and chaos violate the fundamental purpose of governing the country, but Confucianism believes that this is the way of education, which shows that it is poisoning the world. Confucianism has formulated a complex system of rites and music. Make people covet debauchery, set up long mourning ceremonies, pretend to be sad, and deceive their parents. Creating the theory of "destiny" makes people settle in poverty, while respecting those who are arrogant violates the foundation of governance and wastes social production, but leads a quiet life and is blindly arrogant. They are greedy for food and drink, too lazy to work, hungry and cold, and forced by cold and hunger, but they can't get out of trouble. These people are like beggars. They get food and hide like voles. They stare like rams and get angry like wild boars. If gentlemen laugh at them, they will be angry and say, how can you useless people understand noble Confucian scholars! In summer, people beg for wheat, and after all the crops are harvested, they make a living by giving funerals to others, and their children and grandchildren follow them and have enough to eat. Just a few funerals for others, and their lives will be solved. They depend on others to fatten themselves, and rely on the harvest in other people's fields for their own food and drink. Rich people are very happy at funerals, saying, "This is the source of food and clothing." .
Confucianism says: a gentleman's speech and dress must follow the ancient law and conform to benevolence and righteousness. We replied: the so-called ancient speech and costumes were also novel at that time. The ancients used these speeches and costumes, so they were not gentlemen. Then you should wear clothes that gentlemen don't wear. What is humane if you don't say what gentlemen say? Confucian scholars also said: a gentleman only follows the old rules and does not make them. We replied: In ancient times, Houyi made bows, while Wang Zi made armor, and Xi Zhong could skillfully make cars and ships. According to Confucianism, today's cobblers and turners are all gentlemen; And Yi, Cai, Xi Zhong and Qiao Chui are all villains, aren't they? Besides, what they followed must have been created by someone at the beginning. So future generations follow the "Tao" of villains? Confucianism also said: if a gentleman wins, he will not pursue the enemy and shoot people in distress; He helped the enemy pull a heavy cart when they cleaned up the body. We answer: If all people are benevolent, there is no reason to be enemies. After benevolent people declare right and wrong, the unreasonable party will obey the reasonable party, and the unreasonable party will obey the reasonable party. Without words, they will be persuaded by each other and follow suit when they see good things. How can they be hostile to each other? If two villains are fighting, the winner won't try to chase the runner, so he won't shoot the enemy when he is in trouble, and the enemy will help him pull the cart when he collects the body. Although all this has been done, he can't be called a gentleman. For a country ruled by cruel people, saints are prepared to kill the world and send troops to punish it, but the victorious general ordered his soldiers to say from the Confucian point of view: don't chase the defeated people, don't shoot the people in trouble, the enemy will collect the bodies and help him pull the cart; Then the mob can live, and the scourge of the world cannot be eliminated. This is harmful to everyone's parents, but also deeply harmful to the world. There is no greater injustice than this! Confucian scholars also said: a gentleman is like a clock. If you hit it, you will make a sound. Don't fight, don't make any noise. We answer: a benevolent person must be loyal to the Lord, serve his parents and be filial. When you see good deeds in the Lord, praise them; When you see mistakes, you should persuade them. This is the principle of being a courtier. Now Confucianism is just like ringing a bell. It doesn't make a sound until it rings, and it doesn't make a sound until it rings. They hide their wit, give up their strength for the world, and wait quietly for others to ask before answering, even if the monarch and parents have great interests, they will not say anything without asking him. If there is going to be a big riot, some thieves will make trouble, which is as urgent as an arrow on the string. No one else knows, only he knows. Even if the monarch and his parents are around, they don't ask, don't tell. This is simply a thief who made trouble. This attitude means being a minister is disloyal, being a son is unfilial, treating your brother is disrespectful, and making friends with others is dishonest and unfriendly. Although it is a post-statement, I refuse to say it first, but in court, when I see something favorable to me, I am afraid. If what the monarch says is not good for him, the Confucianists will arch their hands high, look at the bottom and say, "I have never learned this." Although it was urgent, he chickened out and walked away.
Nothing can unify Taoism and Confucian classics better than benevolence and righteousness. The big one can govern the people, the small one can be an official, the far one can give alms, and the near one can cultivate one's morality. Don't stay where things are unreasonable and don't do unreasonable things. Only in this way can we promote the interests of the world, correct and repeat them, and stop what is not conducive to the world. This is the principle of a gentleman. Compared with what we have heard about someone's behavior, this is a big mistake. Qi Jinggong asked Yanzi, "What kind of person is Confucius?" Yan Zi didn't answer. Qi Jinggong asked again, but this time there was no answer. Qi Jinggong said, "Many people told me that Confucius was a saint. Now I asked him, but you didn't answer. Why? " Yan Zi replied, "I am incompetent and can't recognize a saint. Even so, I heard that the so-called sages, if they enter other people's countries, must promote the close relationship between the monarch and his subjects and eliminate the resentment between superiors and subordinates. When Kong arrived in Chu, he learned that there was going to be a rebellion, so he invited him to take part in the rebellion, which almost killed the king of Chu and Bai. I've heard that sages won't accomplish anything if they get the trust of the monarch, and they won't feel dangerous if they get the trust of the lower class. If you listen to his words, it will benefit the people. Enlightenment applied to the people must benefit the monarch.
