Shaanxi Opera, also known as Bangzi Opera, is a traditional drama in northwest China and one of the national intangible cultural heritages. Shaanxi opera is the product of the integration of Chinese culture and other national cultures. It can be said that it is the crystallization of musical and cultural exchanges among all ethnic groups on the ancient Silk Road and a wonderful flower in the treasure house of Chinese culture.
Shaanxi Opera, a folk song and dance originated in ancient Shaanxi and Gansu, grew up in Chang 'an, the ancient political, economic and cultural center of China, and gradually formed through the creation of generations. Since the Zhou Dynasty, Guanzhong area has been called "Qin", hence the name of Qin Opera.

Shaanxi opera can be divided into two ways: the west road flows into Sichuan and becomes a bangzi; East Road is Shanxi Opera, Henan Opera and Hebei Opera. Therefore, Shaanxi Opera can be regarded as the originator of Beijing Opera, Henan Opera, Shanxi Opera and Hebei Bangzi.
