What traditional food do you eat on July 7th?

The seventh day of the seventh lunar month is the most romantic traditional festival in China-Qixi Festival, also called "Begging for Cleverness Festival". The dietary customs of Valentine's Day in China vary from place to place, which is generally called clever eating. Among them, jiaozi, noodles, avocados, wonton and other foods are used for this festival.

The custom of begging for cleverness in Juancheng, Cao Xian, Pingyuan and other places is very interesting: seven good girls collect food and vegetables, jiaozi, and wrap a copper coin, a needle and a red date into three jiaozi respectively. After begging for wisdom, they got together to eat jiaozi. It is said that they were rich, good at sewing and got married early.

Old Nanjing people also have a unique custom of celebrating Qixi: eating glutinous rice. Jiangmi tiao is a snack of Han nationality, which is made by steaming glutinous rice flour and bean flour in a stew pot, beating them in a stone mortar with a stick, drying them in the sun, frying them in oil, and finally dipping them in bean paste such as plum blossom, pine blossom and sesame seed.
