IndieMade is a company that provides a variety of well-designed and customizable website ideas, which can include photo libraries, blogs, shopping carts and so on. Please check out the interview with MichaelHerlihy of IndieMade.

Please describe the story behind the company: what inspired this idea and how it developed to this day. IndieMade was founded in 2009 to enable artists and producers to sell their products and services online. The idea came into being because it was very difficult and expensive to set up your own website at that time.

Now it has developed into a mature product, which is developed according to the functions required by customers. What services do you provide?

IndieMade is a website construction platform focusing on e-commerce, especially handmade goods.

Who are your typical customers, and what do you think are the main challenges that your products solve for them? Our typical customers are small independent artists, craftsmen and manufacturers who want to sell or market their products and services. Many of our customers are already Etsy sellers, and they are looking for their own websites. Sell their products or services. They use the payment provider of their choice, such as PayPal, Stripe or Square. The design of IndieMade product structure can be easily integrated with Etsy product list.

IndieMade only charges a small amount of hosting fees, and does not charge transaction fees or any other hidden fees.

All our features and integrations are available in all programs. We only limit the number of products or pages, and we are also generous in these aspects.

Many of our competitors will continue to increase the upgrade and fees of third-party plug-ins (such as Etsy integration). What is the mission of Indiemade?

Our mission is similar to the start-up of the company.

Make it easy for small independent enterprises to create websites and use tools to sell products online.

We try our best to keep the function simple and not let customers feel overwhelmed. Choose a theme, add some pages or products and some other settings, and you have a website.

What is the difference between you and other similar websites/companies? It's simple. Our personalized support level and quality. If you need help, you will know our names. Our government has a very good reply email support system, but we are always happy to answer the phone. We may not have all the advantages of Shopify, Squarespace and other large e-commerce website builders, but I believe we beat them in support.

We are also very agile in software development. If a customer requests a function, we think it will benefit all our customers. We quickly agreed and realized this function. This is the main goal of our new platform. Ability to quickly start functions. What are the company's plans in the near future?

In the past few years, we have been focusing on our new version, and recently released a modern and beautiful theme and some functional upgrades. If you read IndieMade in the comments, one of the shortcomings is the lack of modern or customizable themes.

We don't have a huge list of themes, but what we have is configurable and design elements can be easily exchanged.

We are also very willing to help you customize and adjust your website. You won't get that kind of service from our competitors.

We also hope to expand our market, not just artists, but any small company or enterprise that needs a website. I think we are very suitable for traditional website companies and the price is reasonable. In short, our future plan is to continue to improve the new version to ensure that it is simple enough to build a website, but at the same time it has important functions that customers need as a whole.
