Detailed Activities of Peking University Wushu Association

The Wushu Association has long insisted on carrying out all kinds of activities, which are rich in content and diverse in form. It is mainly divided into daily activities and special large-scale activities. Our daily activities mainly include daily training, interest classes for various types of martial arts equipment, lectures by famous teachers, showing martial arts movies, participating in various performances and fellowship among members of the association.

Daily training includes evening and weekly practice, for the majority of new and old members, teaching basic martial arts and basic boxing equipment routines, by the North University Wushu team students and wushu specialists as coaches, is the most important training content of the Wushu Association.

All kinds of boxing equipment interest class, is a special activity of the Wushu Association, invited all kinds of martial arts masters, famous boxer to come to teach boxing for the students. The main form of boxing (by the National Wulin 100, Beijing Formal Boxing Research Association, the president of the Di Guoyong teacher and the form of the famous Qu Shoujun teachers teach), Bagua Palm (by the fifth generation of Liang's Bagua Palm, the current Beijing Wushu Association Bagua Palm Research Association, Secretary General of Mr. Yang Shiming professor), Chen-style taijiquan (by the Beijing famous boxer Ma Laiwang teachers teach), the five potential Plum Blossom Pile (by the Plum Blossom Pile seventeenth-generation heir to the masses of Yan Zijie), nine whip (taught by Mr. Yan Zijie, the 17th generation of Plum Blossom Pile), Nine Sections Whip, and so on.

The lectures of famous teachers are mainly related to various aspects of Wushu and Chinese traditional culture, and famous teachers from inside and outside the school are invited to give lectures. Combined with the characteristics of the martial arts themselves, the combination of classroom lectures and interactive exercises as the main form of fun, in-depth, by the majority of teachers and students of the praise.

Playing martial arts movies, mainly selected classic kung fu movies (such as Bruce Lee film series, Jet Li film series, etc.), martial arts culture documentary (such as the CCTV documentary "Mystery of the South Shaolin", etc.), Wushu Association activities video, video appreciation of the competition routines and so on. The content is also quite rich.

Society members fellowship activities, mainly including the annual spring and fall tour (such as the Beijing Botanical Garden, Shidu, etc.), occasional pulling (such as Yunmeng Mountain climbing cross-country, etc.), the Association reunion, and so on.

In 2004, the Wushu Association also organized the first Wushu Culture Festival, a series of activities lasted *** three weeks, from a variety of perspectives, in a variety of forms, focusing on wushu sports and wushu culture propaganda, and invited the major universities in Beijing wushu clubs to come to *** with the same to participate in the Centenary Memorial Lecture Theatre to a wonderful wushu evening as the closing ceremony of the Festival will be the University of Beida's wushu fever to the peak of the festival.

Wushu is a sport without borders, attracting enthusiasts from all over the world, and the Wushu Association is also an organization that attracts international students from all over the world. The Wushu Association has been facing the majority of international students as well as overseas friends from all walks of life, and is committed to widely publicizing wushu, introducing wushu and teaching wushu, and is dedicated to promoting wushu sports and wushu culture to the world on the campus of Beihang University. The Wushu Association has a variety of activities that are suitable for foreign friends. We have key members who are good at English and specialize in teaching martial arts to foreign friends, focusing mainly on traditional routines and practical attack and defense.

Foreigners who are native Chinese speakers and foreign students with good Chinese language skills also come to the WUA's evening and weekly training sessions, as well as various interest classes. Foreign students are also often seen in the fellowship activities of the members of the Association. Some foreign students even participate in our group program rehearsals and perform on various occasions. The venue for our daily training is chosen in the open space in front of the building of the College of Chinese Language Education for Foreigners, which is also subconsciously promoting martial arts.
