What hybrid millet varieties are there in production?

At present, seven varieties of Zhangzagu 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8 and 9 7 have been bred, forming a variety pattern suitable for flood and drought, spring sowing, summer sowing and early, middle and late ripening, basically covering all ecological types in suitable sowing areas of millet in China.

Zhangzagu 3 has strong stress resistance, high resistance to white rot and nematodiasis, drought resistance, lodging resistance, strong adaptability, wide adaptability, high and stable yield, high rice quality and good palatability. In 2005, it was rated as high-quality rice at the sixth national millet appraisal meeting. Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other provinces, as well as areas with accumulated temperature ≥ 10℃ and above 2600℃ can be planted.

Zhangzagu 5 is highly resistant to white rot and nematodiasis, with excellent rice quality, good palatability and great yield potential. It is suitable for planting in plots with good fertilizer and water conditions, especially in low-yield corn fields with water irrigation conditions, with good yield and benefit.

Zhangzagu 6 is suitable for planting in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other provinces, as well as areas with good fertilizer and water conditions ≥ 10℃ and accumulated temperature above 2500℃. This variety has a short growth period and is suitable for planting in areas with relatively short frost-free period.

Zhangzagu 8 is a hybrid sown in spring and summer. This variety has developed roots, stout stems, wide leaves and strong growth potential, and is suitable for spring sowing and planting in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Gansu, Inner Mongolia and other provinces and regions with accumulated temperature ≥ 10℃ and above 2900℃ with good fertilizer and water conditions. It is also suitable for summer sowing and planting in double cropping areas in Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Henan and other provinces.
