Grassroots Governance and Social Security in Major Countries of the World

Legal analysis: In ancient Greece, grassroots governance relied on village communities. During the feudal period in Western Europe, the manor house was the main grassroots unit. 10th-11th century, the rise of cities in Western Europe, cities enjoy a certain degree of freedom. In modern times, with the emergence of modern Western European nation-states and socio-economic development, countries have strengthened the management of grassroots governance on the basis of inheriting the tradition of local autonomy. After the Second World War, the ways of grassroots governance in Western countries differed, but the emphasis on self-government became the ****same feature of grassroots governance in all countries.

Legal Basis: Social Insurance Law of the People's Republic of China
