Why is Cangzhou the hometown of martial arts?
Cangzhou, named after the Bohai Sea, is located on the coast of the Bohai Sea. Historically, it used to be a barren and desolate place, and it was also a place where prisoners were held. Throughout the ages, there have been frequent wars in Cangzhou, and people have lost their lives. It is impossible to survive without martial arts. This place is not only a place where criminals are sent, but also a good place for rebels. Some rebels arrested by the imperial court sought the strong and martial custom of Cangzhou people, covered up their bodies, remained anonymous and spread their skills to make a living.
The "cults" and "addicts" in Bajimen, "Qiu" in Wudimen, "Shunyuan Monk" in Taizumen, "Han Daoshi" in Tonganmen, and "Qin Couple" who broke the practice of Wang Daofa are all just men with strong martial arts and made contributions to the development of Cangzhou Wushu, but their real names and life experiences have not been revealed. Historically, Cangzhou area is the hub of flood and drought transportation between north and south, and it is also the main route for the government to take darts. Therefore, darts, hotels, shipping and other industries in Cangzhou are prosperous.
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, it became a common practice for the North-South darts to "not shout Cangzhou". Cangzhou martial arts masters have won many battles with foreign boxing champions and won honors for the Chinese people. 1903, Wang Ziping, the "king of divine power" in Cangzhou, defeated the boxing champions of the United States, Britain and France in Shanghai, and Qi Baishi, a famous Chinese painter, gladly wrote "Fighting tigers in Nanshan and driving long dumplings in deep pools" as a gift.
Cangzhou Boxers have made positive contributions to the development of China Wushu. In the 17th year of the Republic of China (1928), when Zhang Zhijiang, the general of the army of Cangji National Army, was the director of the National Art Museum of the Central Committee, he strongly advocated strengthening the body to resist aggression and save the country, and nearly 100 people from Cangzhou entered the museum to teach for further study. After the founding of New China, China Wushu was revived as an excellent national cultural heritage.
Cangzhou Wushu categories and independent boxing are increasingly rich, and many boxing routines are unique in Cangzhou after refining, improvement and innovation. Among them, Cangzhou Baji Boxing and Guagua Boxing are listed as the top ten most representative boxing styles in China, and they are introduced to the world as prescribed routines in Wushu competitions.
Cangzhou Sports School, Wushu Institute, Mengcun Bajiquan International Training Center and boxing clubs in various counties and cities are all cultivating a large number of Wushu talents. The tour guide will stay for a few days to watch and learn martial arts and learn some routines and moves. After practice, visit the scenic spots in the city. Holding the "Cangzhou Wushu Festival" every four years is a good opportunity to observe, learn and communicate. Those who like martial arts must not miss it.
